Magic Tips Best Bets

Jockey: Bernard FAYD'HERBE - Trainer: Justin SNAITH
LASTBUTNOTLEAST showed his true determination as he dictated his own pace and then fought courageously to fend off his subsequent winning stable companion Vice Admiral over this c & d in the maidens last time out. He raises in class today but gets another handy draw and appears to have plenty of scope for improvement.

Jockey: B MORGENROOD - Trainer: Glen KOTZEN

SPRING BEAUTY loves this distance and she didn't find her usual strong finish when trying the mile, last time. She had promising form over this distance prior to that and has been taking on much strong- er opposition. The daughter of Silvano takes a big drop in class and should give a very good account of herself, despite shouldering top weight of 60.5kgs.

Jockey: Andrew FORTUNE - Trainer: Joey RAMSDEN

FREDDY'S SISTER relished being equipped with blinkers as she found her best form in her latest start. She was slightly slow into stride over this c & d last time but produced a powerful finish to get and win by a head. She seems to have escaped with only a three pound penalty and has strong claims of following up. She gets the services of Fortune and could make pole position count, if she isn't slow into stride.

Race 8: ASHTON PARK(11)
Jockey: Robert KHATHI - Trainer: Mike BASS

The Bass yard hold a very strong hand here with ASHTON PARK and LANCELIN. The former represents the three-year old contingent and gets the narrow verdict. The son of Battersea Park has improved rapidly and this is his best distance. He challenged strongly when beaten just over half a length into third over this c & d behind July hopeful Punta Arenas, recently. He was only a head behind the runner-up, TERMINATOR that day but now faces that rival on 4kgs better terms and should easily reverse the form. He is drawn in midfield and merits healthy respect.

Race 4: EYE OF THE PANTHER(2) (Each Way)
Jockey: B MORGENROOD - Trainer: Glen KOTZEN

EYE OF THE PANTHER clearly relished trying an extra furlong as she ran on smartly to win going away from subsequent winner Chanel Five in the maidens over this c & d, eleven weeks ago. Her trainer has rested her since but she would have strengthened nicely during that time and appears to have lots of potential. She takes on stronger today but could still prove up to the task.
