Magic Tips Best Bets

Race 1: OUR BOY BLAKE(6)
Jockey: Robbie FRADD - Trainer: Dominic ZAKI

OUR BOY BLAKE has shown decent form but has failed to live up to expectations, especially after he made a cracking debut over this c & d. He didn't enjoy the blinkers last time and his trainer gelded the son of Toreador during his eight week break. Hardly surprisingly, the blinkers are removed today and there should be lots of improvement to come from the Zaki inmate.

Race 3: KINGS V(8) - TOP BET
Jockey: S'Manga KHUMALO - Trainer: Wallace TOLMAY

KINGS V made a cracking debut at long odds over this c & d, three weeks ago. She was understandably green but challenged strongly before going down just under two lengths. She had today's rival BAREFOOT LADY a neck further behind her but would have come on considerably from that effort and can confirm the form.

Jockey: Piere STRYDOM - Trainer: Chris ERASMUS

SAMMY SILVER is seldom beaten far and he stayed on nicely for second over this c & d under Strydom, one week ago. He finished 2.50 lengths ahead of the third placed runner EDUCATED GUESS on that occasion and has strong claims of going one better.

Jockey: Gavin LERENA - Trainer: Stanley FERREIRA

SAINT ANGELIQUE is well above average and she loves racing on the Highveld. She won her debut impress- ively over this c & d in April but then never showed in a Grade 1 at Scottsville, next time out. Howe- ver, she bounced right back to her best when she went down narrowly to a hard knocking campaigner over 1160m on her comeback run, five weeks ago. The daughter of Var drops, both in class and in trip but will strip fitter and should go close.

Race 7: JETSONS(10) (Each Way)
Jockey: S'Manga KHUMALO - Trainer: Kumaran NAIDOO

There are some real speedsters here and there is every chance that they could cut each other's throats. This could play right into the hands of the hard knocking JETSONS who has kept his form well in his last few starts. He takes on some very promising sorts but has proven fitness on his side and could still be very competitive with a light mass of just 52.5kgs.
