Jockey: MJ BYLEVELD - Trainer: Vaughan MARSHALL

There are many newcomers in this opening juvenile contest but the raced runners have displayed some useful form and could hold the key to the final outcome. VICTORIOUS JAY has produced two smart runs to date and he should continue to improve. The full-brother to the classy Zubbadubbadoo showed good pace before finishing runner-up over this c & d two weeks ago. He was a length and a half clear of the 3rd placed finisher NUTBUSH and merits healthy respect here.

Jockey: Andrew FORTUNE - Trainer: Glen KOTZEN

JANE S PIDDY has shown promise in all three of her career outings and she surprisingly drops in trip. She went closest when caught late over this c & d in her penultimate run and is an obvious contender with Andrew Fortune in the saddle. That said, the daughter of Trippi will get stiff competition from a few runners in this event.

Jockey: Brandon MAY - Trainer: Adam MARCUS

HOPE DOWNS continues to knock hard at the door and the engaging of a 4kgs claiming apprentice could make all the difference for the Adam Marcus inmate today. She has regained her best form since being equipped with blinkers and seems at her best over this c & d. The daughter of Fort Wood was caught late with frontrunning tactics over this c & d last time but may enjoy a soft lead in this field. She will easily overcome her draw and should get that deserved first career victory.

Jockey: Andrew FORTUNE - Trainer: Joey RAMSDEN

VERY CLEVER has been below-par since racing over seven furlongs and understandably reverts to sprinting on his third run after the layoff today. His two best career runs came over this c & d and he should bounce back to form in this ordinary line-up. The juveniles could be his biggest obstacles and TOP OF THE ROCK from the Greg Ennion yard must be closely watched.

Jockey: Aldo DOMEYER - Trainer: Mike BASS

LINE BREAK was very disappointing in his last start over this c & d but he may have needed the effort after returning from a 12 week break. He showed lots of class prior to that and should quickly bounce back to form despite taking on stronger rivals. The Mike Bass inmate is 1.5kgs better off with his conqueror MISTER MATCHETT but he is clearly capable of better and should produce a solid performance.
