Race 9: SEMRA(4)

Magic Tips Best Bets

Race 1: REAL PRINCESS(1) – TOP BET
Jockey: Anthony DELPECH – Trainer: Dean KANNEMEYER

REAL PRINCESS is versatile and she possesses a serious burst of speed. The Dean Kannemeyer inmate quickened smartly to crush a decent field of sprinters over 1100m last time and she has plenty more improvement in her. She had one shocking experience on this track but clearly didn’t see out the mile in a Grade 2 that day. The daughter of Trippi has now firmly got her career back on track and she is best in on official ratings in this competitive pinnacle stakes affair.

Race 4: EUPHORIA(1)
Jockey: Muzi YENI – Trainer: Johan Janse v/Vuuren

EUPHORIA is a smart mare who eventually got the job done over RED LABEL over this c & d, three weeks ago. She shoulders a bigger mass now but is once again best in on official ratings and the daughter of Kahal has already displayed plenty of determination in her career. She is 1kg better off with the runner-up and will be better equipped to handle this track. She is drawn in pole and should raise her game to go very close in this line-up.

Race 6: FROSTED HONEY(2)
Jockey: Gavin LERENA – Trainer: Michael AZZIE

FROSTED HONEY was bitterly disappointing when perhaps needing her comeback run in a Grade 1 over seven furlongs on July day. She has taken on considerably stronger than this field and caught the eye when staying on for 2nd behind a subsequent Grade 1 winner in a feature in her penultimate start on the Highveld. The daughter of Western Winter will strip fitter today and she could bounce right back to her best from a decent draw.

Race 7: CAPTAIN OF ALL(1)
Jockey: Sean CORMACK – Trainer: Dennis DRIER

A top class field has assembled for the season’s final Grade 1 sprint and a thrilling finish is expected. The Drier inmate CAPTAIN OF ALL will be out to produce another spectacular performance before heading off to stud. The four-year old entire’ was brilliant when he kept on well to beat his rivals in a Grade 1 at handicap level at Scottsville over six furlongs in late May.

VALUE BET FOR TODAY:

Race 5: GREY LIGHT(2) (Each Way)
Jockey: S’manga KHUMALO – Trainer: Joey RAMSDEN

The three-year old filly GREY LIGHT, as expected has improved since returning to this province. She hasn’t been able to scale the heights she did as a juvenile but has given some encouraging recent signs, most notably her powerful late burst for a close 4th against stronger over this c & d in her penultimate outing. That was also amongst male rivals and just for good measure she had a decent last display on the grass. The Ramsden inmate seems at her best on this surface and she drops heavily in class today. She will love the likely suicidal early pace and should be picking off her male rivals in the closing stages. Her wide draw could work in her favour.
