Magic Tips Best Bets

Race 1: ROSE IN BLOOM(9)
Jockey: Donovan DILLON - Trainer: Joey RAMSDEN

ROSE IN BLOOM is well-bred and she produced a high quality debut at long odds last month. She was understandably green but finished strongly for a close 2nd over 1100m on this course and as with most of her conditioner's horses, she would have come on appreciably from the experience. She finished narrowly ahead of her stablemate Made In Hollywood who romped home to an effortless subsequent win next time out. Admittedly, this daughter of Gimmethegreenlight faces some useful competitiors today.

Race 3: DAWN RISING(1)
Jockey: Richard FOURIE - Trainer: Justin SNAITH

Once again there are quite a few form runners who should ensure a close affair and this formline could be worth following. DAWN RISING was returning from a break when she ran on strongly to be 2nd best behind easy winner Straat-Kind (won subsequently) over five furlongs on this course, three weeks ago. This extra furlong will suit her perfectly and the Snaith inmate looks set to build on that effort.

Jockey: Richard FOURIE - Trainer: Mike ROBINSON

is a top quality sort who came up a little short at the highest level in the summer but she has plenty of scope and is still worth following throughout her career. She produced a top class effort over this c & d in a feature in her penultimate outing and does seem well handicapped on her debut this year. The daughter of Elusive Fort races fresh after the 14 week break and she should take a power of beating.

Race 7: OH BEHAVE(7)
Jockey: Grant VAN NIEKERK - Trainer: Candice BASS-ROBINSON
OH BEHAVE has surprised many with his decent post maiden form and he should be competitive in this higher quality field. He is at his best over this c & d and can take full advantage of the recent two pound drop in his merit rating.

Race 8: HILARIA(14)

Jockey: Akshay BALLOO - Trainer: Mohammed R ALLIE

The lightweights could make merry in this low-key fillies and mares handicap over the seven furlongs. The galloping grey mare HILARIA produced an eye-catching last c & d performance in a strong male dominated handicap and she could represent excellent each/way value from her good draw today. Her apprentice claims just 2.5kgs this time around but she still has claims back against her own sex.
