Magic Tips Best Bets

Race 3: ROY’S STRIKE FOR(3)
Jockey: Ashton ARRIES – Trainer: Paul LAFFERTY

ROY’S STRIKE FORCE
represents a red-hot apprentice jockey/trainer combination and the Lecture gelding has the credentials to be a force in this competitive seven-furlong handicap. The four-year-old bay stayed on for a creditable 4th in a highly competitive line-up on the grass recently and that formline is certainly worth following. The inmate from the Lafferty yard is well drawn but must jump on terms to take full advantage of that.

Race 6: NAPOLI(1)
Jockey: Anthony DELPECH – Trainer: Alyson WRIGHT

NAPOLI
has done really well for his new yard and he kept his form when running on late for 3rd over seven furlongs last time out. However, reverting to sprinting could be exactly what he requires as the four-year-old bay gelding showed with an impressive burst of speed in his penultimate outing over this track & trip. Top jockey Delpech retains the ride and the pair jump from another good draw.

TOP BET
Race 7: SISTER COSMOS(3)
Jockey: Anthony DELPECH – Trainer: Sean TARRY

SISTER COSMOS
is plagued with issues but there isn’t any doubt with regards to her quality and she could take some beating in this much lesser handicap. The Tarry inmate is seldom beaten far and she had an excuse for her below-par last run in a much stronger field. The daughter of Visionaire had an eye-catching comeback run over this c & d prior to that and she should be a real force on her third run after the lengthy break. It comes as little surprise that top jockey Delpech keeps faith with the chestnut filly who is well drawn at gate 4.

Race 8: DE NIMES(1)

Jockey: Anthony DELPECH – Trainer: Sean TARRY

DE NIMES
was comfortably beaten in a competitive line-up on her handicap debut on the Highveld recently but her top class conditioner has found the ‘perfect’ contest for her to get her form back on track. The lightly raced and injury plagued five-year-old bay mare had solid prior form to that and most importantly, the speedy daughter of Fort Beluga finished a creditable 3rd in her only showing on this surface and that was against male rivals. She should be highly competitive tonight despite shouldering top weight.

VALUE BET (EACH WAY) FOR TODAY

Race 1: ROY IS SLOW(2)

Jockey: Ashton ARRIES – Trainer: Yogas GOVENDER

ROY IS SLOW
has disappointed with blinkers in recent efforts and could bounce back to form with the headgear removed this evening. The bay colt showed promise earlier this year and was outrun late into a close 2nd over ten furlongs on this course second time out. He gets the services of an in-form 4kgs claiming apprentice and jumps from a good draw.
