Race 2: ROYAL EXPLORER(2)
Race 6: RED CHESNUT ROAD(4)
Race 8: THE ROYAL RUMBA(3)

Magic Tips Best Bets

Race 1: REVEREND(8)
Jockey: Anthony DELPECH – Trainer: Dean KANNEMEYER

REVEREND
could be all the rage in the betting market after his decent sprint debut at Scottsville four weeks ago. The son of Antonius Pius ran on late to finish 2nd best that day but would have come on appreciably from the experience and should make natural improvement. He is well drawn and is bred to relish today’s extra furlong.

Race 2: SIR FRENCHIE(1)
Jockey: Anthony DELPECH – Trainer: Justin SNAITH

SIR FRENCHIE’s
only flop came over six furlongs second time out but that was in a feature and the Cape resident showed his true ability with an impressive subsequent victory. The imported colt could enjoy racing on this fast circuit and he holds huge claims on his local debut. His good draw is a major plus.

TOP BET
Race 5: FINAL JUDGEMENT(4)
Jockey: Richard FOURIE – Trainer: Glen KOTZEN

FINAL JUDGEMENT
confirmed her class with some quality efforts during the Cape summer and she could have a big winter in this province. Of course the Kotzen trained daughter of Judpot captured a Grade 2 event over this c & d last term. She is well-weighted in today’s contest and has strong claims from a good draw. Her arch-rival SAIL is best in at the weights on official ratings and trainer Drier’s charge is the obvious threat. She finished just under two lengths adrift of the top rating when the pair met in a Grade 1 in Cape Town last time out. This daughter of Philanthropist is drawn in gate 2.

Race 6: COPPER FORCE(8)

Jockey: Anthony DELPECH – Trainer: Justin SNAITH

The classy COPPER FORCE expectedly improved rapidly during the Cape summer and he produced a strong finish for 2nd in a competitive feature over a mile on Met Day. The bay gelding would have benefitted from the subsequent ten week absence and he certainly has a bright future. This shorter trip will be no issue on his local debut and the son of Royal Air Force can go close from a good draw.

VALUE BET (EACH WAY) FOR TODAY

Race 7: KING DJANGO(1)

Jockey: Sherman BROWN – Trainer: Dennis BOSCH

The Cape Fling formline on 22/03 is well-represented in this low key handicap where the top weight KING DJANGO could upset the applecart. The chestnut colt has always possessed a decent finishing burst and he ran on steadily when trying the mile on the polytrack last time. He has nearly two lengths to find with the runner-up CHICAGO BEAT and 3rd placed entrant FRIEND REQUEST but his good draw and the faster pace could make all the difference this time around.
