Unchanged Hollywoodbets KZN Inland relishing Africa Cup semi-final

Pietermaritzburg – Having finished top of pool D after an exciting weekend of action that saw them win two from two, Hollywoodbets KZN Inland will face Gauteng in the 2017 Africa T20 Cup semi-final on Heritage Day on Sunday 24 September aiming for a spot in the final to be played on the public holiday on Monday 25 September in Kimberley.

Hollywoodbets KZN Inland have historically fared well in the Africa T20 Cup, only missing out on the play-offs on one occasion, 2016, and following their strong performances in East London last weekend where they beat Zimbabwe and hosts Border, they will be in high spirits going into the semi-final.

The Hollywoodbets Dolphins opening batsman Sarel Erwee was in fine form for Inland over the two fixtures, notching up effortless half centuries in both encounters and despite him currently doing duty for the KZN franchise in the Sunfoil Series coach Shane Burger knows that having him for the play-offs will be a huge bonus.

“He’s [Erwee] an Inland boy at heart and he’s such a vital cog in our set-up that we always appreciate having him in our line-up,” Burger said.

“His career now lies with the Dolphins and hopefully South Africa but to have a player and a character like him available is invaluable.”

KZN Inland will go into the play-offs with the same squad of players that did duty at Buffalo Park, and coach Burger believes that the conditions in Kimberley might benefit his chargers more than the conditions did at the coast.

“The Kimberley wicket is normally a really good one with a bit more pace in it than East London, which could suit our batsmen a bit more.

“We are used to preparing on tricky surfaces in Maritzburg so the boys are always grateful to get onto quicker pitches,” Burger emphasised.

Hollywoodbets KZN Inland Squad:

Gareth Dukes, Sarel Erwee, Graham Hume, Kushen Kishun, Sohail Mahmoud, Kurtlyn Mannikam, Athi Maposa, Nduduzo Mfoza, Lefa Mosena (c), Kerwin Mungaroo, Ruhan Pretorius, Kyle Nipper, Grant Roelofsen.
