The Wallabies hosted the All Blacks at the Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane on Saturday the 21st of October.

The first try came from the host's, as Aaron Smith was forced to change direction after a wheeling scrum, his pass saw rush defence catch Lima Sopoago off guard and his way ward pass was intercepeted by Reece Hodge who ran 80 metres to score.

Moments later, Aaron Smith, made amends with his previous error and supplied Wasaki Naholo with a low and fast skip pass. Naholo scored in the corner – Lima Sopoago got the extra 2 points.

On the stroke of half-time, the Wallabies were handed an advantage in the All Black 22 and they kept the phases rolling. Before Israel Folau ran to the corner and Wasaki Naholo had to defend two players at an overlap and Folau went for the whitewash to score, Folau scored his third consecutive try against the All Blacks. Foley failed to convert 13 – 12 it ended at halftime.

Rob Simmons was unfortunately stretched off in the opening first 3 minutes of the second half.
After good phase play, the Wallabies gained some good momentum but Kurtley Beale knocked it on in the All Black 22.

55 minutes in, the Wallabies started their rhythm and kept the phases rolling in the All Black 22 – Genia passed to Foley who swung to Folau, who ran outside of Naholo and passed to Koroibete who kept his body position low and dived into the corner to score past Damian McKenzie. Foley missed another conversion, 17 -13 to Australia.

Reece Hodge took over kicking duties and added more points for the host's after he scored a penalty placed in the corner of the field, 20 - 13. The All Blacks made some changes and TJ Perenara came on for Smith and David Havili came on for Crotty. Perenara created a chance immediately but his grubber went into touch.

Sonny Bill Williams found himself in no space and managed to take on two defenders before he offloaded to Read who passed it Ioane, Reko finished off the move and ran 40 metres to score. 20 - 18, but McKenzie missed the conversion.

Reece Hodge made a monster 53-metre kick to extend the Wallabies lead to 23 - 18 with less than 5 minutes to play.The All Blacks had possession and the hooter went off but they conceded a penalty at the ruck and handed Australia a well-deserved win!
