Race 6: KINGOFTHEWORLD(5)

Magic Tips Best Bets

Race 1: SEVENTH SON(8)

Jockey: Piere STRYDOM – Trainer: Clinton BINDA
SEVENTH SON showed smart improvement when going down narrowly after a good ride from ‘Striker’ over this trip a fortnight ago. He just failed to overhaul a fair type and was in turn clear of a highly rated sort in a decent line-up. The bay gelding should continue to progress and he has strong claims of going one better.

Race 3: JAZAALAH(9)
Jockey: Callan MURRAY– Trainer: Mike DE KOCK

JAZAALAH was strongly fancied when she finished 2nd best behind a speedy sort over this trip two weeks ago but she has obviously shown good work back home and come on with that experience. The imported daughter of More Than Ready should have natural progress in her.

TOP BET

Race 4: GAMBADO(13)
Jockey: Randall SIMONS- Trainer: Alec LAIRD

GAMBADO was rested for 17 weeks after his two fair efforts and the bay gelding would have strengthened nicely. He failed to quicken when well beaten into 4th in a strong field over a mile second time out but that formline has worked out extremely well. The son of Mambo In Seattle will be better equipped to handle the turn this time around and he is one worth following.

Race 8: MARTHA’S VINEYARD(2)
Jockey: Anthony DELPECH – Trainer: Mike DE KOCK

MARTHA’S VINEYARD relished the rise in distance as she finished smartly to beat a similar line-up over nine furlongs last month. She may have escaped with just a three pound penalty and can certainly follow-up despite the sharp drop in distance. She jumps from a midfield draw.
VALUE BET (EACH WAY) FOR TODAY:
Race 5: TWICE A DANCER(14)
Jockey: Lyle HEWITSON – Trainer: Sean TARRY

The three-year olds TWICE A DANCER and HOT CURRY could have a big say with their low masses in this competitive ten furlong handicap and the former is the slight preference. Trainer Tarry’s charge had a disappointing season finale at Greyville and no doubt needed his comeback effort over shorter last time but he is much better than his current rating and could still be worth following. He will strip fitter now.
