Magic Tips Best Bets

Race 1: KING'S COMMAND(12)
Jockey: A Marcus  Trainer: S Tarry

A big field greets the starter in this six furlong contest where the likely short-priced favourite KING'S COMMAND should prove tough to beat. The inmate from the Tarry yard was heavily supported on his promising debut over this trip at Greyville ten days ago and he should make natural improvement. The well-related son of King's Chapel challenged strongly before staying on for a creditable 2nd that day. He gets the services of top jockey Marcus this time around.

Jockey: D De Gouveia - Trainer: D Drier

DAYDREAM BELIEVER is improving swiftly and the blinkers made a significant difference in her career best attempt recently. She raced wide on her grass debut that day but quickened smartly before being outrun late into 3rd by a decent sort. The runner-up Flamenco Dancer boosted the formline when winning subsequently with the aid of blinkers and this daughter of Oratorio should continue to progress. She races up the straight for the first time though.

Jockey:  A Delpech - Trainer: D Bosch

SIR BERNADINI was steadily supported in the betting market when he ran on well to make a winning debut over a mile on the polytrack on the first day of October. He hasn't raced for eleven weeks since but would have strengthened and the imported gelding is clearly above-average. He should be followed with confidence on his grass and handicap debut. Top jockey Delpech takes the ride.

Race 5: FIORELLA(1)
Jockey:  A Marcus - Trainer: D Howells

The three-year old FIORELLA has shown smart potential in her four runs to date and she is certainly worth following. She stayed on to finish runner-up behind a high class sort over this distance in a minor feature last time out. That formline was given some impetus when the 3rd placed entrant Roy's Riviera finished 4th in a Grade 3 contest on the Highveld subsequently. This daughter of Captain Al shoulders a big mass today but she meets very ordinary sorts and should still take a power of beating.

Race 6: ART ATTACK(2)
Jockey: B Lerena - Trainer: I & D Moore

The game frontrunner ART ATTACK had too much to do from poor draws in her disappointing last two runs but she has cracked a favourable barrier position today and she should bounce back to form. The gutsy campaigner just lasted to win his last effort on this course three starts ago. Her jockey's riding style will suit the daughter of Dupont. It could pay to follow the progress of Fiorella in the previous event as her stablemate MIZIARA represents the same Guineas Trial formline here. This bay filly had legitimate excuses for her flop in that event but she had promising prior form and must be strongly considered in this lesser company.
