ERCC: Leinster v Glasgow Warriors Preview

Leinster will be`looking to avoid a potential banana peel this coming Sunday when they take on the winless Warriors out in Ireland.

Leinster will be looking to maintain their unbeaten run in this year's Champions Cup when they take on the Glasgow Warriors at the RDS Arena on Sunday the 14th of December. The Irish side have been in sensational form during the Champions Cup winning all four of their games.

The Warriors have experienced a polar-opposite season, losing all four of their fixtures. They have nothing, bar pride, to play for here but that makes them slightly more dangerous

Leinster Rugby
It's been a good 18 months for Irish rugby with the national team performing like a well-oiled machine and all four provinces producing some quality rugby. Leinster are currently the club poster boys with their exciting, yet measured, style of play reaping great dividends. Their brand of rugby is also set to be rewarded with the Irish Province currently only requiring a maximum of two points to advance to the next phase of the tournament.

Leinster aren't just flying high in the Champions Cup, they're also enjoying a solid Pro14 campaign and currently sit two points off the Conference B leading Scarlets. They enjoyed some solid form over the festive period as they racked up wins over their domestic foes Ulster, Munster and Connacht. Glasgow beware!

Glasgow Warriors
The Warriors may be having a bit of a 'mare in the Champions Cup but they are having no such problems in the Pro14. The Scottish outfit currently sit top of the Pro14 Conference A, some 15 points ahead of second-placed Munster.

With their appearance in the Pro14 semi-finals virtually assured I suspected that coach, Dave Rennie, may well have been tempted to field a rather strong side against Leinster this coming weekend. His side face the Exeter Chiefs at home next weekend, and  I thought Rennie would rest his heavy hitters then. Turns out that the former Waikato Chiefs mentor and myself aren't reading from the same script with Rennie all but confirming that he'll field a somewhat weakened side.

Verdict: Leinster 1/10
Rennie is set to rest a host of first-stringers, which will backfire especially as Leinster are certainly not a team you can rest a few heavy hitters against and get away with it.
