Rain decides day one in Dolphins v Warriors clash

Day one of the Hollywoodbets Dolphins' final Sunfoil Series clash of the season, against the visiting Warriors has been rained out at Sahara Stadium Kingsmead without a ball being bowled on Thursday.

In what is the last opportunity for the Dolphins to eke out more silverware this season, unfortunately they will only have three days to try and make it two out of two red ball wins against their Eastern Cape neighbours.

A ray of hope for the Durban side is the fact that there was no cricket played on day one in either of the other two Sunfoil Series games in Centurion and Potchefstroom.

The scenario is such that the Dolphins have to beat the table topping Warriors in order to have any chance to win the competition.

They also need the other two games to yield a strong bizhub Highveld Lions win over the WSB Cape Cobras, as well as a tame draw between the VKB Knights and the Multiply Titans at SuperSport Park.

The Hollywoodbets Dolphins and the Warriors will get their fixture underway on Friday at 09:00.
