The Netherlands stick the boot into Germany

The Netherlands bounced back from their 2 -1 defeat at the hands of France beating Germany 3-0.  Virgil van Dijk netted in the 30th minute before Memphis Depay and Georginio Wijnaldum scored late into the match to seal a 3-0  win. This was the first time since 2002 that the Netherlands have triumphed over the Germans.

Bafana make light work of Seychelles, Salah limps off

Bafana Bafana scored six as they beat Seychelles at the FNB stadium to top Group E of the African Nations Cup. Bafana achieved their largest winning margin in their history as Thulani Hlatshwayo, Percy Tau, Teboho Mokoena, Lebo Mothiba, and Dino Ndlovu all got onto the score sheet. Bafana now head to Seychelles to play the return leg on Tuesday 16 October at 15:30.

In other AFCON news, Mo Salah scored directly from a corner kick but limped off injured as Egypt beat Swaziland 4-1.



Khabib calls out Mayweather

UFC lightweight champion, Khabib Nurmagomedov calls out Floyd Mayweather for a possible bout.

In a seemingly lighthearted video, Khabib is seen standing with Leonard Ellerbe the CEO of Mayweather Promotions, who was attending a fight in Russia and bumped into Khabib before the pair made a video. Watch the video here

Western Province and Sharks to host Currie Cup Semis

Western Province were awarded a victory against the Blue Bulls, taking a 34-7 lead into the break before the match was abandoned due to inclement weather. The result means Province have remained unbeaten in competition.

The Sharks held their own as they travelled to Kimberley to face a stern Griquas test which they passed 41 - 11.

This weekend's semi-finals will see the Sharks host the Lions while Western Province will play the Blue Bulls at Newlands.

PSG involved in UEFA Champions league match fixing probe 

Neymar scored a hat-trick in PSG's 6-1 in the Champions League win over Red Star, but an investigation is now underway after a Red Star official placed a 5 million euro bet on PSG to win by 5 goals. Read full story here
