South Africa tied the ODI against Pakistan 1 - 1 in Durban on Tuesday 22 January, but the match was marred by an incident caught on the stump mic.
Andile Phehlukwayo finished with career-best figures of 4-22 and high score 69 not out from 80 balls to guide South Africa to victory.
But the stump mic picked up audio from Pakistan's skipper Sarfraz Ahmed who allegedly made a racist comment towards the Protea's all-rounder in his native Urdu:
“Abey kaale, teri ammi aaj kahaan baitheen hain? Kya parwa ke aaye hai aaj?,” Sarfraz was heard saying on stump mic.
Which translates to: “Hey black guy, where’s your mother sitting today? What (prayer) have you got her to say for you today.” according to CircInfo
Sarfraz Ahmed could face sanctions and a disciplinary hearing following his actions.
