Neil Morrice: UK Racing Tips - Wednesday 10 April 2019

Jockeys ride horses

Neil Morrice brings you all of his best bets and tips from around the United Kingdom. Wednesday 10 April's racing comes your way from Kempton Park, Lingfield, Nottingham and Warwick.

Kempton Park Best Bets

Race 6: KINGFAST (5)
Trainer: David Dennis
Jockey: David Egan

Based on a staying performance to wear down his rivals when reappearing at Wolverhampton, KNGFAST is going to enjoy going another quarter mile in this, and merits considerable respect. He races in the same class band and as the only recent scorer in the field should be hard to beat, despite having to negotiate a tricky draw.

Race 8: SECONDO (6)
Trainer: Robert Stephens
Jockey: Poppy Bridgwater

Although managing to live up to his name last time, SECONDO did little wrong in that Wolverhampton sprint. He's been an absolute model of consistency in framing in each of his last five outings and deserves a change of luck. The 5lb claim of his capable apprentice jockey is another big tick next to his name.

Lingfield Best Bet

Race 1: HELFIRE (1)
Trainer: Martin Bosley
Jockey: Charlie Bennett

Quite a lot to recommend HELFIRE in this... she's taking a class drop, has a perfect draw from which to obtain a handy position from which to counter and is a course and distance winner who hasn't been over-raced. This slightly longer trip than when she finished in midfield in a Class 5 here last time won't be a problem either.

Nottingham Best Bets

Race 1: VASILIEV (15)
Trainer: Clive Cox
Jockey: Adam Kirby

While the likes of Mokammal, King Ademar and King Of Change will have their fair share of support, VASILIEV is the one that takes my eye, having gone down in a photo on her belated racecourse debut at Kempton in November. He's reportedly done well through the winter and is forward enough to make his mark with two plusses a rail draw and Kirby in the irons.

Race 6: SAISONS D'OR (7)
Trainer: Jedd O'Keeffe
Jockey: Joe Garrity

Transferring good all-weather form to turf is the task facing SAISONS D'OR who is iron fit following a couple of solid placed efforts on sand. He finished strongly in the latest of those at Wolverhampton. Kept to the same level here, he can be competitive.

Warwick Best Bets

Trainer: Caroline Fryer
Jockey: Bridget Andrews

The blinkered GOODNIGHT CHARLIE dominated a similar race over a longer trip here last month, spending most of the marathon trip in glorious isolation. Similar conditions await this spring-heeled individual who is in the mood to serve up a similar dose to his foes.

Race 7: SID HOODIE (2)
Trainer: Charlie Mann
Jockey: Rex Dingle

Fitness has to be taken on trust for this first outing in five months for SID HOODIE, but his astute trainer is a dab hand at successfully executing this type of situation. The five-year-old belied his 16-1 odds to chase home Fairway Freddy when last seen at Wincanton, and it's interesting that he's gone well when returning from a break n the past.
