Thirsk Best Bets

Trainer: Jedd O'Keeffe
Jockey: PJ McDonald

From a very much in form stable, BALANCING ACT has improved from race to race, knows her job and can prove hard to peg back. She demonstrated her good all round pace to lead until well inside the final furlong at Ripon, and is cherry ripe to open her account.

Race 5 - No 4 DAN'S DREAM
Trainer: Mick Channon
Jockey: Callum Shepherd

As the only filly DAN'S DREAM can take full advantage of her 5lb sex allowance against mainly out of form rivals. She's been highly tried with two near misses in Ireland and a poor showing at Royal Ascot where she found the mile stretching her stamina. Seven furlongs on good or softer ground is just what she wants.

Brighton Best Bets

Race 1 - No 2 ZAULA
Trainer: Mick Channon
Jockey: David Egan

A relatively new recruit to the Channon yard, ZAULA beat only one home but wasn't beaten far when fourth to Swiss Chill at Leicester. She's a well balanced filly that should handle the switchback nature of Brighton as she steps up to six furlongs.

Race 3 - No 1 ZZORO
Trainer: Amanda Perrett
Jockey: Pat Dobbs

Connections of ZZORO have discarded the headgear the gelding often sports in a tricky heat, with all five runners capable of winning. He's hard to win with, but a cracking effort to chase home the useful Hats Off To Larry at Nottingham suggests this could be his day.

Musselburgh Best Bet

Trainer: David Menuisier
Jockey: Kevin Stoute

Journeyman DRAGONS VOICE can make the long trip from West Sussex pay dividends and has plenty going for him. A mile and a half looked an inadequate test when he finished second to Buckland Boy at Thirsk when he struggled to go the pace before staying on. He will enjoy this extra yardage but might not get his favoured strong pace, meaning his jockey might have to earn his fee.

Haydock Best Bet

Race 4 - No 3 FANTOM FORCE
Trainer: Richard Hannon
Jockey: Richard Kingscote

This stable is enjoying a purple patch and FANTOM FORCE can add to that by following-up the gamest of successes over six furlongs at Newbury, rallying when headed to lead on the post. If the selection brings a similar attitude to the table for this step up to seven furlongs another win is in the offing.

Newmarket Best Bet

Race 2 - No 7 WALKONBY
Trainer: Mick Channon
Jockey: David Egan

Far too keen for her own good when finishing last but one at Kempton on Monday, WALKONBY now drops into a seller in which most of her rivals have also been out of form. She's no star, but definitely has ability and can show her true colours under a good jockey booking.

Chelmsford Best Bets

Race 1 - No 3 CONSTANZIA
Trainer: Jamie Osborne
Jockey: Shane Kelly

Freshened up by a break since her smooth triumph over six furlongs here in June, CONSTANZIA can dominate this small field and put that experience of the surface to good use. She always promised to find her forte in the nursery arena and can prove well worth waiting for.

Race 2 - No 1 RAIN CAP
Trainer: Mick Channon
Jockey: Scott McCullough

RAIN CAP hasn't performed badly in two outings since landing a seller at Redcar and after his defeat at Nottingham on Tuesday now gets first time cheekpieces. His capable apprentice pilot takes a handy 5lb off his back, and the combination should prove hard to beat.

Trainer: Henry Candy
Jockey: Charles Bishop

A lightly-raced relative of top class sprinter Twilight Son, TWILIGHTING hasn't shown much in three educational runs and now moves into the handicap arena. The selection works well on sand at home and should be competetive in an open looking heat.
