Race 3: KAYLA’S DREAM (5)
Race 6: LORD LAIKA (8)

Magic Tips Best Bets

Race 1: GENEROUS JACK (6)

Jockey: C Dicken – Trainer: C Lensley

GENEROUS JACK has shown good improvement in his last three starts. He raced from a handy position last time but tired in the later stages. He was distressed post-race, but it was very hot conditions that day. The horse that finished second in that race has come out and won since. His best run was his penultimate start which was over this distance. The son of Jackson gets the services of apprentice Cole Dicken who claims 4kgs. If he can put his best foot forward, he should be the one they all have to beat.

TOP BET

Race 3: KAYLA’S DREAM (5)
Jockey: R Munger – Trainer: D Carson

KAYLA’S DREAM is the best bet on today’s card. Her last two starts when running on at the finish were encouraging. The daughter of Noble Tune steps up to the mile this afternoon which should be right up her alley. It must be noted that the horse that finished second in her last start has come out and won since. Ryan Munger does duty for Dennis Cason and the 3yo filly should be tough to beat from draw two.

Race 4: REGENT SEVEN (4)
Jockey: J Penny – Trainer: J Rugg

REGENT SEVEN has finished runner-up in his last two starts. He had to switch at the 150m mark in his last start, but ran on well at the finish. He comes off a short 11-week rest and steps back up to the mile. If the son of What A Winter can continue his good run of form, he should find himself in the winners enclosure. Jarryd Penny knows him well which is a big plus.

Race 6: IRISH PRIDE (6)

Jockey: M Yeni – Trainer: C Lensley

IRISH PRIDE has come back to form in his last three starts. He steps up to nine furlongs for the first time, but the manner in which he finished off his last race suggests that he should have no problems seeing out the distance. The 7yo gelding takes a big drop in class and gets the services of top jockey Muzi Yeni once again. From a midfield draw, he should be the one to beat.

VALUE BET
Race 7: MANHATTAN COCKTAIL (2)
Jockey: R Munger – Trainer: S Miller

This is an open handicap and an upset could be on the cards. MANHATTAN COCKTAIL may have not enjoyed stepping up to the mile in a Pinnacle last time. He is much better suited to the seven furlongs and takes a big drop in class. His record over this distance is fair with two wins and two third-placed finishes from ten outings. From a good draw of three, he may be tough to beat.
