Third T20I: India vs Bangladesh Preview

India vs Bangladesh Preview

India and skipper Rohit Sharma delivered an emphatic response as the hosts levelled the series in Rajkot.

Sharma powered an India chase that hauled in the Tiger's modest total with 26 balls to spare to set up a decider in Nagpur.

To Win Match
India 2/15
Tie 35/1
Bangladesh 5/1

India
The India team as a whole responded to the shock defeat in the series opener precisely the way they would be expected to even without some of their stars.

The bowlers put the squeeze on, and the modest target was no match for Sharma, who was at his belligerent best in smashing 85 off 43 balls.

India found an intensity absent in the opening match but must be wary of another momentum shift to ensure they clinch the series in Maharashtra.

Lokesh Rahul and Shreyas Iyer are locked in a duel for a spot in the middle order, though Virat Kohli's absence will allow them to make their cases for further selection alongside one another.

Bangladesh
Bangladesh caught India unawares in the series opener but were given a rude awakening of their own in the second contest.

The Tigers batting effort was characterized by starts that weren't converted into significant scores, and as a result, the target they posted was not even close to being competitive.

Bangladesh can put India under pressure but will struggle to do so if they are made to bat first, their best chance would be in chasing down a target.

Seamer Mustafizur Rahman will need to bounce back from the abuse suffered off of Sharma's bat and lead the attack. 20-year-old legspinner Aminul Islam was the only bowler to find a way to generate some pressure on India in Rajkot.

Verdict: India 2/15
India to take the series.
