Race 9: CHE BELLA(1)

Magic Tips Best Bets

Jockey: R Danielson - Trainer: S Tarry

As with the first race, the majority of the runners here are first-timers and the betting market must be closely monitored. MIRACLE FLIGHT did, however, win on debut over 800M and is sure to have come on further with the run under her belt. She started odds-on that day, so her connections were obviously expecting a big run from her and she never let them down.

Race 5: NOW YOU SEE ME (3)
Jockey: P Strydom - Trainer: F Habib

A tricky F&M 75 Handicap faces punters here and the weak first selection goes to NOW YOU SEE ME. She has finished second in her last two starts over this distance and will be hoping to go one better here with Piere Strydom retaining the ride. She has the blinkers removed for today's run and starts from a handy draw.

Race 6: PERFECT LIGHT (14)
Jockey: W Kennedy - Trainer: G St John

PERFECT LIGHT has not been far off the action in her four starts since winning her maiden race over this c&d. She drops back to that trip after contesting three races over further. She is well drawn and Warren Kennedy retains the ride.

Race 7: HAWTHORN (8)
Jockey: C Murray - Trainer: M de Kock

HAWTHORN has only had the three runs and tries the ten furlongs for the first time, but she was not disgraced in her first run out of maiden company when running on at the finish over nine furlongs. On that performance, she should have no issue with handling the extra ground. She has her second run after a rest and gets a set of blinkers fitted for the first time to aid her cause.

Race 9: CHE BELLA (1)
Jockey: T Gumede - Trainer: P Peter

The Paul Peter stable could complete the exacta here, but it may be the lesser fancied in the betting who fills first spot. CHE BELLA has her second run after a rest and gets the same 4kg claiming appie on board who won on her last time out over five furlongs. She won that race in the shadow of the post and will be hoping to complete the double here.
