UK Racing Best Bets - Sunday 1 December 2019

Jockeys ride horses

Neil Morrice brings us all of his best bets and tips from UK Racing at Carlisle and  Fairy House on Sunday 1 December 2019.

Carlisle Best Bets

Race 2 - No 3 I’M TO BLAME
Trainer: Keith Dalgleish
Jockey: Sean Quinlan

The hooded I’M TO BLAME deserves a change of luck, having run into a couple of above average rivals in his two outings this season. He gave the useful Two For Gold plenty to think about at this course and will not mind the drop back to two miles as his jockey might well elect to force the pace on him.

Race 3 - No 1 MR SCRUMPY
Trainer: Jedd O’Keeffe
Jockey: Joe Colliver

Consistency is the forte of MR SCRUMPY who impressively returned to the fray at Wetherby when coming home unchallenged from Sakhee’s City. That should have given his confidence a boost and if turning out again in the same form a penalty shouldn’t stop him.

Race 7 - No 2 CALL ME FREDDIE
Trainer: Jedd O’Keeffe
Jockey: Joe Colliver

CALL ME FREDDIE has useful course form to bring to the table and looks ready to post a first career success. He troubled the judge on his debut before chasing home Chuvelo in a big field here and that run makes him the one to beat.

Fairy House Best Bets

Race 1 - No 3 CERBERUS
Trainer: Joseph O’Brien
Jockey: Robbie Power

Slick jumping was the hallmark of CERBERUS’s wide margin triumph over course and distance last month, making him one of the most exciting juvenile hurdlers seen so far this season. From the stable that won this with Landofhopeandglory in 2016, he can follow up on the way to better things.

Race 7 - No 5 FERNY HOLLOW
Trainer: Willie Mullins
Jockey: E Walsh

Unbeaten pointer FERNY HOLLOW is the subject of favourable reports and should be hard to beat for the Mullins stable. He completely dominated his maiden at the Knackanard meet in February and is expected to take high order in the Bumper division this winter.
