UK Racing Best Bets - Tuesday 10 December 2019

Tuesday 10 December 2019

Neil Morrice brings us all of his best bets and tips from UK Racing at Fontwell Park, Uttoxeter and Wolverhampton on Tuesday 10 December 2019.

Fontwell Park Best Bets

Race 3: GELBOE De CHANAY (2)
Trainer: Philip Hobbs
Jockey: Tom O’Brien

GELBOE DE CHANAY brings a tall home reputation to post and should prove more than a match for his rivals in a relatively weak juvenile hurdle. On his only start in France, at Auteuil in April, he powered to a 14 lengths triumph and relished the heavy underfoot conditions. Purchased by JP McManus, he did everything right at home.

Race 5: GIVEPEACEACHANCE (5) (Each Way)
Trainer: D J Coakley
Jockey: Nick Scholfield

From a stable that does well with its limited number of jumpers, GIVEPEACEACHANCE showed promise to place in a long-distance handicap at Chelmsford and can transfer that ability to hurdling. The selections has been well tutored in his schooling and can prove better at this discipl8ne than he showed on the flat.

Uttoxeter Best Bets

Race 1: POUCOR (5) (Each Way)
Trainer: Mick Channon
Jockey: Marc Goldstein

POUCOR will relish the testing conditions and can earn in this competitive handicap hurdle. He made no mistake on his return to the jumps arena and followed up with a game effort at Taunton that earned him a frame finish. In spite of running keenly, he kept on gamely to place behind Dorking Boy and might find this a slightly more straightforward assignment.

Trainer: Caroline Fryer
Jockey: Richard Patrick

Front running GOODNIGHT CHARLIE was made plenty of use of on his seasonal return at this course, leading until the final fence only to weaken on the Flat in the race won by Petite Power. He was eased when his chance had gone and the outing should have done him the power of good. Furthermore, he will appreciate this shorter trip.

Wolverhampton Best Bets

Race 4: KNOCKABOUT QUEEN (12) (Each Way)
Trainer: Tony Carroll
Jockey: Kieren Fox

Since being purchased out of a seller KNOCKABOUT QUEEN has done well for new connections and the key to her chance is a perfect draw from which to attain a decent early position. She bagged a couple of wins earlier in the year and apart from an off day when easy to back at Kempton last time she regularly finishes in the money. She might represent better value than Steelriver who keeps threatening to win but is parked wide.

Race 6: LOVING GLANCE (7) (Each Way)
Trainer: Martyn Meade
Jockey: Tom Marquand

The impeccably bred LOVING GLANCE faces some in form rivals and will have to be on her A-game, but the manner of her success in a small race here last month suggests there could well be more to come. She attracted plenty of market support before bounding clear in the short home straight, a win that has done wonders for her confidence level.
