It’s a bland old PRO14 fixture list this weekend with a lot of David versus Goliath affairs taking place and a lot of European internationals still with their respective 6 Nations squads. Nevertheless, there’s still some great punting value on offer, which will be music to readers’ ears.

Glasgow Warriors v Zebre
Friday 14 February
BT Murrayfield
21:35

To Win (80 Mins)
Glasgow 1/20
Draw 40/1
Zebre 15/2

The first of Friday evening’s fixtures is very much a gimmie for the hosts Glasgow who will take on an extremely weak Zebre side.

The Warriors head into this one having won half of their opening 10 fixtures while the visitors have only claimed two PRO14 victories this term.

The last five games between the sides have been won by the Warriors, who won the most recent instalment 7-31.

Verdict: Glasgow 1/20
While they’ll be without a few Scottish internationals, I can still see the Warriors winning this one by more than 20 points.

Munster v Southern Kings
Friday 14 February
Irish Independent Park
21:35

To Win (80 Mins)
Munster 1/50
Draw 40/1
Kings 19/2

We have yet another big gun versus minnow in Friday night’s second fixture with Irish stalwarts Munster taking on South African cannon-fodder in the form of the Southern Kings.

The away side has only won one game this season and currently sit at the foot of Conference B, while the hosts have won six of their 10 games and sit third on the Conference B standings.

When the two sides met earlier this year Munster ran out 20-31 victors in South Africa. Last year’s meeting in Ireland saw an even bigger winning margin with the Irish side winning 43-0.

Verdict: Munster 1/50
Like Glasgow, Munster will be without a number of stalwarts but they should still be able to run up a big score. My money is on the hosts winning this one by more than 28 points.

Leinster v Cheetahs
Saturday 15 February
RDS Arena
16:30

To Win (80 Mins)
Leinster 1/11
Draw 40/1
Cheetahs 6/1

We kick Saturday’s proceedings off with a clash between Conference A leaders Leinster against the Conference’s third-placed side, the Free State Cheetahs.

The hosts have been in impeccable form this term and are yet to lose a Top 14 game. They also wracked up a highly impressive 54-7 victory over Connacht in Round 10.

The Cheetahs endured a much tougher time of it in Round 10 as they were smashed 41-13 by Italian minnows Zebre.

Verdict: Leinster 1/11
Like most of the Irish Provinces, Leinster are missing a number of stalwarts. Despite this, I can still see them beating the Cheetahs between 12 and 16 points.

Scarlets v Edinburgh
Saturday 14 February
Parc Y Scarlets
17:00

To Win (80 Mins)
Scarlets 6/10
Draw 20/1
Edinburgh 29/20

Next up we have a more evenly matched affair with Welsh club the Scarlets taking on Scottish outfit Edinburgh.

The hosts currently reside in second-place on the Conference B standings while Edinburgh are three points clear at the top of the standings.

Both teams have been in decent touch over the past month with each side winning three of their last five fixtures. The two teams also head into this one off the back of Challenge Cup wins with the Scarlets beating London Irish and Edinburgh beating Agen.

Verdict: Scarlets
I reckon this will be a tight one but one that the hosts edge.

Ospreys v Ulster
Saturday 15 February
Liberty Stadium
19:15

To Win (80 Mins)
Ospreys 47/20
Draw 18/1
Ulster 7/20

The struggling Ospreys will be looking to bag only their second win of the season when they take on an Ulster side that has only suffered three defeats from their 10 PRO14 fixtures.

The Ospreys have been in dire form of late losing their last five fixtures by heavy margins with their most recent defeat being a 33-6 loss to Munster.

Ulster have fared far better in their last five games winning three of their last five games with their most recent win seeing them beat English side Bath 22-15.

Verdict: Ulster 7/20
I can’t see anything but a win in excess of 10 points for the visitors.

Dragons v Treviso
Saturday 15 February
Rodney Parade
21:35

To Win (80 Mins)
Dragons 7/10
Draw 16/1
Treviso 5/4

The Dragons and Treviso will go head-to-head in the penultimate game of Round 11. The hosts currently reside in fifth-place on the Conference A standings while Treviso are in sixth on the Conference B standings.

Both teams have won four of their ten PRO14 games and but head into this one in contrasting form with the Dragons two of their last three and Treviso losing all of their last three.

Verdict: Dragons 7/10
They’re in decent touch at the moment and they are at home. All signs point to a Dragons win.

Connacht v Cardiff Blues
Saturday 15 February
Galway Greyhound Stadium
21:35

To Win (80 Mins)
Connacht 7/20
Draw 18/1
Blues 47/20

Connacht – sans a couple of Ireland stars – will be looking to improve their play-off qualification chances when they take on a Cardiff Blues side who will be looking to achieve the exact same goal.

Both teams have registered five wins from their ten PRO14 outings but the hosts head into this one in horrific form having lost all their games in 2020.

The Blues recent form makes for much better reading with the visitors winning two of their fixtures across all competitions.

Verdict: Connacht 7/20
They have to come good at some point and I reckon it’ll be this weekend. It’s likely to a tight win, however, so a single digits plus may well worth backing.
