Orlando Pirates 3-2 Kaizer Chiefs (17 March 2012)
This was Benni McCarthy’s first Soweto derby and he crowned it with two first half goals! Daine Klate also found the back of the net for the Buccaneers who were already leading 3-0 after 24 minutes! Siphiwe Tshabalala’s goal before the interval and Lehlohonolo Majoro’s 70th minute strike set up e nervy finish for the hosts who managed to hold on for dear life and walk away with maximum points.

Kaizer Chiefs 0-3 Orlando Pirates (15 December 2001)
This is one of the most one-sided Soweto derbies I’ve ever witnessed as a football fan. Kaizer Chiefs’ Muhsin Ertugral was expected to roll little known Jean-Yves Kerjean but the French mentor had other ideas. Lesley Manyathela’s brace and Benedict Vilakazi’s goal handed the Bucs faithful a nice Christmas present.

Orlando Pirates 3-1 Kaizer Chiefs (3 March 2018)
The first half was so intense with Thembinkosi Lorch and Leonardo Castro having netted for Ezimnyama Ngenkani and the Phefeni Glamour Boys respectively but Milutin Sredojevic made a smart move at halftime, substituting Bernard Morison and replacing him by Luvuyo Amigo Memela who scored with his first touch just moments after restart. Memela went on to score a brace to seal a massive victory over the neighbours.

Kaizer Chiefs 1-2 Orlando Pirates (24 November 2018)
This game came at a perfect time for Pirates as they had mastered juego de posicion which was introduced by Milutin Sredojevic and had beaten Chiefs 2-1 in the league a few weeks earlier, however, Chiefs were not going to lie down to die. After moments of probing the Chiefs defence, Justin Shonga finally broke the 1-1 deadlock towards the end of the game to see Amabhakabhaka book a spot in the Telkom Knockout final.

Kaizer Chiefs 1-3 Orlando Pirates (31 October 2015)
All four goals in this match came from unlikely sources namely Issa Sarr, Ayanda Gcaba and man of the match Thamsanqa Gabuza with Willard Katsande finding the back of the net for Amakhosi. Chiefs had no answers to all questions posed by their opponents and had it not been for superb goalkeeping from Itumeleng Khune they would have lost by a larger margin.

Kaizer Chiefs 0-1 Orlando Pirates (10 September 2011)
This was one of the tightest derbies in Orlando Pirates’ second treble-winning season and it took a long-range extra time shot from Oupa Manyisa to decide the MTN8 champions. The triumph was important for Pirates as it emboldened them to go on and lift that season’s Telkom Knockout and league title, making them the only domestic side to win two back to back trebles.

Orlando Pirates 4-1 Kaizer Chiefs (1996 -Jerry Sikhosana Show)
Jerry Sikhosana put three past Brian Baloyi with Helman Mkhalele scoring the other goal. Amakhosi’s only goal came from David Modise and the Buccaneers would go on and turn on a show in the form of showboating through the likes of Sidwell Maboe and Steve Lekoelea, sending the fans wild!
