UK Racing Best Bets - Sunday 16 February 2020

Jockeys ride horses

Neil Morrice brings us all of his best bets and tips for Sunday's racing taking place at Market Rasen, Navan and Kempton Park

Market Rasen Best Bets

Race 2: ZAKHAROVA (7)
Trainer: Laura Morgan
Jockey: Ross Chapman

ZAKHAROVA hasn’t been seen since cosily scoring at Kelso in May but if in the same mood will be hard to stop in this mares’ novices’ hurdle. She probably has most to fear from Easter Gold who chased home Emmas Joy at Wetherby and whose yard scored with a similar type last week.

Race 3: KILCONNY BRIDGE (5)
Trainer: Anthony Honeyball
Jockey: Sean Bowen

Hailing from a stable that has done well with its bank of distaffers this winter, KILCONNY BRIDGE can make her switch from novice hurdles to handicaps a winning one. She has only one blemish on her record and absolutely hacked up at Exeter last month. A tendency to jump right shouldn’t inconvenience her on this right-handed course.

Navan Best Bets

Race 2: TIGER ROLL (10)
Trainer: Mrs Jessica Harrington
Jockey: Robbie Power

All eyes will be on dual Grand National winner TIGER ROLL on his first start since Aintree and few will forget his stunning 25-1 triumph in this race 12 months ago. The 10yo enjoyed the luxury of having had a run that day, whilst he’s now been off for getting on for 10 months and a fitter and more logical option is MAGIC OF LIGHT who greatly impressed when scoring at Ascot last month and is well treated by race conditions.

Race 4: SO NEAR SO FARHH (9) (Each Way)
Trainer: C McBratney
Jockey: A Short

There’s not much of SO NEAR SO FARHH but the chestnut is a gritty battler as she showed when scoring a first victory in Ireland at Down Royal last month. This is harder, but she’s got further room for improvement and can get into the shakeup.

Race 7: UAINTSEENOTHINGYET (6)
Trainer: Eddie Harty
Jockey: Mark Walsh

The injury-prone UAINTSEENOTHINGYET likes this course and could offer up the best value after a solid enough run at Naas that should have brought him fully to the boil. It was only on the run in that he fell away in the race won by Best Behaviour and its thought to have put the cutting edge on him.

Kempton Park Best Bets

Race 3: ALL YOURS (4)
Trainer: Sean Curran
Jockey: Adam Kirby

In a cracking race, ALL YOURS can successfully take a step up the class ladder. The 9yo is by two years the oldest member of the field but after a snug win at Kempton has a spring in his step and can confirm his well being by following up. Sky Defender and Calling The Wind should also be in the thick of it at the business end.

Race 4: CHIPIRON (4)
Trainer: A Marcialis
Jockey: Pierre-Charles Boudot

Hat-trick seeking Rainbow Dreamer looked very good when skating up at Wolverhampton but has to give 4lb to the French raider CHIPIRON who is himself looking to complete the same feat. He sneaked home in a big field of handicappers at Deauville last month and will enjoy stepping up to two miles.
