Race 1
The program might start off with a filly and a mare flashing past the post to put the males in the contest in their places. HANNA FROM HAVANA is a 3yr old filly who has her hat-trick attempt today and although she takes a step up in distance, she looks to be the one to side with here. LADY GRANDE is a 5yr old mare who finished well before being narrowly beaten last time out over this c&d and looks the immediate danger to the former. CAPTAIN'S LEGEND won well last time out over ten furlongs and will be looking to follow up today. LOVE WAVES won his penultimate start over 2100M and should have little difficulty going the extra trip.

Race 2
BYRON BUOY returns from a 21 week break but put in a good barrier trial to confirm his well-being. He drops in trip, but he should be right up there in the dash down to the line. FIRE IN THE HOLE makes his debut, but has had the benefit of three barrier trials and finished second in the latest. He has cracked pole position and any betting support for him should be respected. HASHTAG VIKING returns from an even longer 37 week rest and has his first run for his new trainer. If fully acclimatized in his new surroundings, he should be considered here. VOLCANIC showed some improvement in his last outing and will have the benefit of getting 3kgs removed from his back thanks to his claiming apprentice.

Race 3
HOLIDAY IN DUBAI stayed on well in her last start over six furlongs and should have no problem dropping back in trip as she finished a close up second when making her debut over five furlongs. From pole position, she may prove difficult to topple here. MISS WHITTINGTON returns from a 21 week rest, but she won her barrier trial and did finish second, two lengths behind the winner over five furlongs before the break. She could pose the biggest threat to the former. FRANGLAIS also returns from a rest, hers for a shorter 12 weeks. She likes to race up with the speed and jumps from a handy draw. TOLERATE has her first outing, but has had three barrier trials. She starts from a mid-field draw and any betting support for her should be taken seriously.

Race 4
This looks to be an extremely open event and some caution is advised. The very tentative selection goes to RAMROD, who has shown marked improvement in his last two starts. He steps up further in distance, but if taking to the trip, he should be involved in the finish starting from gate two. JET PILOT did finish second in his last outing over 1900M, but was 5.5L off the winner. Nonetheless, he does get 2kgs removed from his allocated weight courtesy of his claiming apprentice and could threaten here. CROSS EYED MARY is a 6yr old mare taking on males, but she drops in trip and may do better as a result. SOMNIA is a 3yr old filly who, on the other hand, takes a big step up in trip, but she may well be looking for this greater test in stamina.

Race 5
CUBIX won his last outing over 1300M and will jump from gate three. His cause will be helped by getting a 2kg reduction in the weight that he has be allotted by having the services of the claiming apprentice. WITHOUT RISK is a 5yr old mare taking on the boys, but she is drawn one outside the former and should be running on at the business end of affairs. Her overall form is consistent. SALTY RAIN finished just 2.2L behind the winner last time out over six furlongs, but is another who will be assisted with a 1.5kg weight reduction for his claiming appie. ZA ZA ZENA is a 4yr old filly who is seldom far off the action and is likely to turn in another honest performance today.

Race 6
SEE IT THRU raced handy before winning his last start over six furlongs. He takes on further today, but he is likely to adopt similar tactics and may prove to be the one to be with here. AT WITZ END ran on well to finish third over 1300M in his last outing after a 21 week rest. On that effort, he should enjoy going the extra distance today. NORTHERN KNIGHT was making good late progress last time out when third over six furlongs and should relish the extra distance here. I’VE GOT THIS was close up last time out over six furlongs and will have 4kgs taken off his back thanks to his claiming apprentice. He won over a mile three runs back, so the extra ground should not be an issue.

Race 7
GOLDEN COMET has posted consistent form and was just over a length and a half behind the winner last time out over six furlongs. He gets a set of blinkers fitted for the first time and if these have the desired effect, he should be right up there in the firing line. STAR OF HARADA won his last outing over five furlongs and should have no issues with the extra ground. His draw two is a plus. SAN SIERRA has shown steady improvement in his last two starts and if he has continued along that same path, he should be involved in the finish here. GUNNAZA showed marked improvement last time out and if he is able to confirm the effort, he should be respected in this field.

Race 8
ANNIE ETHYL is a 4yr old maiden taking on the boys, but she has consistent formlines to her name and only narrowly missed out when finishing third over five furlongs in her comeback run after a 28 week rest. TRIPLE THE FUN is a 3yr old filly who followed up a solid debut effort over 1100M to win next time out over five furlongs. She clearly has some ability and should be afforded the utmost respect. GUS LIGHTNING won his maiden race last time out over the c&d and has cracked pole position. He takes on stronger, but he should be considered a runner here. CAN'T BEAT ME returns from a 30 week break and has a wide draw to negotiate, but he won his maiden over 1300M before the rest with front-running tactics and is likely to be taken to the front once again.
