Race 1
A small but competitive field gets today’s program going and the narrow first selection goes to PAGANI who is a 3yr old filly taking on the boys, but she finished a close up second last time out over 1213M and will be hoping to go one better today. CARSON DRIVE finished third over 1100M in his comeback run after a 25 week break and if he can build on that effort here, he could trouble the former. ALWAYS EASY finished just under two lengths back in his comeback outing over 1213M last time out after a 20 week rest and will get 3kgs removed from his back thanks to his claiming apprentice. GLITCH INTHESYSTEM is likely to race up with the early speed and should not be ignored in this field.

Race 2
INVICTUS DOMINI finished third when making his debut over 1300M and has followed that up with two second place finishes, the latest being over 1413M. He steps up further to a mile, but he looks hard to oppose here. MAY KEEP HIM was not far back last time out over 1413M and has cracked pole position. He may prove to be second best. LEAD GUITAR is a 3yr old filly taking on males, but she recorded a solid comeback run over 1413M after her 10 week rest. The blinkers are removed for today’s run. EL CARDERO has his first run for his new trainer and will also have the blinkers removed.

Race 3
PINSSON has his hat-trick attempt here and the manner in which he has seen off his opposition in his last two victories would suggest that this is very much on the cards. His handy draw is a plus. CALABRIA JOE has shown improvement in his last two outings and if he has continued down that same path, he should be involved in the finish here. TRADE TALK won well last time out over 1100M and has pulled pole position. FLYING ROAR has his first run for his new trainer, but he won over this c&d three runs back and if he is able to reproduce that effort today, he could trouble the top three selections.

Race 4
Four fillies look set to dominate the finish here and BRICK SHORT is taken to lead the way home. She won her maiden over this c&d last time out and although she takes on stronger here, she might just be up to the task on hand. Starting from gate five will assist. BITOVEMU is drawn wide, but her 3kg claiming apprentice may elect to take her to the front from the off and they could be difficult to peg back in the closing stages. PICTURE SHOW has an even wider draw to overcome, but she finished strongly to win her maiden last time out over six furlongs and should be doing her best work late. THE FULL QUID missed out on her hat-trick last time out when refusing to jump. She has had a barrier trial since then and if getting away on terms today, she would be a big runner here.

Race 5
HOT STYLE has consistent formlines to his credit and was making good late progress when finishing second in his last outing over 1300M. He should be right up there in the firing line. MIDNIGHT ROCKET is seldom too far off the actions and was just 1.3L back from the winner last time out over seven furlongs. He should be considered for all bets. KENYLUCK likes to race up with the pace and was only run out of it late last time out over seven furlongs. The drop in trip is sure to suit him. WILDONBROOK is a 4yr old filly taking on males, but she won her penultimate outing over this distance and rates a chance in this line-up.

Race 6.
OUQBA TED completed his trio of wins in fine style last time out and will be hoping to continue with his winning ways today. The first of those three victories were posted over the c&d and although he has a wideish draw, he looks to be the one that they all have to beat. GOLDEN ACRES suffered interference last time out over 1413M and did well to finish as close to the winner as he did. With better luck in running here, he could threaten the former. GINGER WILLIE finished well when just 0.4L third in his last start over this c&d and should be taken seriously today. RED EPIC is drawn the widest of them all, but he could use his early gate speed to get across without using up too much energy.

Race 7
A six and a five-year mare could battle it out for top spot here and DEFIANTLY, the older of the pair, is given the nod. She finished well to chase down the leaders and win going away last time out over ten furlongs and should have no issue with the extra distance. FREEZ'EMOFF also made good late progress when winning her last run over 1900M. She looks the obvious threat to the former. However, the race does not end there as MYCROFT has recorded two solid efforts over staying distances and he should keep the top two selections honest. PROXY has finished just behind the leaders in his last three outings and should be right up there at the line jumping from gate three.

Race 8
ASHBURN showed marked improvement to win his last start over 1300M when friendless in the betting markets. If he is able to confirm that effort, he should be considered a big runner here. THE CROWN PRINCE has consistent form to his name and should be involved in the finish once again starting from a mid-field draw. HAYSTACKS was a surprise winner of his last start over this c&d to record his maiden victory. He takes on stronger here, but if that was not just a flash in the pan, he should be able to threaten the top three selections. SLUICE BOX has a very wide draw to negotiate, but he was just 0.3L behind the winner when finishing second last time out over 1300M and should be closing down the frontrunners at the business end of today’s race.
