Race 1
The majority of the runners in this opening event are making their debut and as is always the case in these types of races, a close eye must be kept on the betting markets to get some idea as to what the various stables think about their chances of winning here. IN FLANDERS won her barrier trial and drops back in distance after two fair outings over 1100M and could make her experience count. MACROURA makes her debut, but won her last barrier and could pose a danger to the former. ALREADY BLESSED returns from a 6-week break and was placed in her barrier trial. WRITE ON also makes her debut today, but put in a good barrier trial and should be considered here.

Race 2
BATTLEGROUND has finished second in all three of his starts to date and although drawn wide, he does possess the necessary gate speed to get across without using up too much energy. He could be the one that they all have to beat today. DUENNA, on the other hand, has a handy draw and had a good last run over 1100M in soft going last time out. She is a 3yr old filly taking on the boys but looks the immediate danger to the former. BLUEANT had four barrier trials before finishing third over 1100M first up. BLUFF ‘N’ BLUSTER ran on well over 1300M last time out and is not without a chance here.

Race 3
JACQUINE REWARD fought on well before finishing second over six furlongs last time out. He has a wide draw to negotiate, but he should be doing his best work late. BIGGER THAN THORN raced handy before drawing off to win his last start over this trip and should be right up there when they hit the line. PIONEER won his penultimate outing over 1300M and should give a good account of himself here. SHAIBANAT returns from a 19-week rest, during which time he was gelded. He jumps from a wide draw, but he did put up a good barrier trial and can’t be lightly dismissed here.

Race 4
I ARIZE has a handy draw and gets a set of blinkers fitted for the first time. He finished well when second last time out over a mile and has enjoyed the soft conditions in the past. KARMAZONE seldom finishes too far behind the action and the step up in trip may suit him. THE GURU ran on well last time over the mile. He is drawn wide, but he should be doing his best work late. TRUST THE PROCESS has cracked pole position. He was a tad disappointing last time out, but he had solid form prior to that.

Race 5
WILD IMPACT is a 5yr old mare taking on males, but she improved in her last outing when going the ten furlongs and has done well on a soft track before. THINK STRAIGHT takes a step up in trip, but if he enjoys the greater test of stamina, he should be respected here. IVIRA is a 4yr old filly whose last outing over this distance was a little disappointing, but a repeat of her penultimate run over 1900M would see her involved in the finish here. JUSTICE HONOR has a poor draw, but the shorter journey is sure to suit him.

Race 6
BENONI returns from a 7-week rest. She is a 3yr old filly taking on the boys, but she has consistent formlines to her credit. She has a wide draw to overcome, but on the plus side she does return to a lesser centre. GIRL YOU WANT is a 4yr old filly who has the early gate speed to overcome her wide draw. She is a regular place-getter and could finally exit the maiden ranks today. LANDO BAY has his first run after a 22-week rest, during which time he was gelded. From pole position, he should be considered for all bets. COSTA ZOU returns from an even longer 43-week break, but his last trial was encouraging and his form before the rest was solid.

Race 7
BUZZ has consistent form to his name and ran on well to finish second in his last start over 1300M. On that effort, the extra distance is sure to suit him. He has a handy draw and likes the soft underfoot conditions. MENAGERIE is a 4yr old filly who finished strongly to win her maiden race over this trip last time out. She takes on stronger here, but she may just be up to the task on hand. MONTSERRAT has pulled pole position and stayed on well last time over six furlongs. Going the extra furlong today is sure to suit him. ALCHERMES is drawn one outside the latter and is another who just won her maiden last time out over six furlongs. That was only her second start to date and she should have more to offer today.
