Race 1.
CAKE
WALKER is a 3yr old filly taking on the boys, but she is seldom far off the
winner and was staying on well in her last start over a mile, suggesting the
extra trip will be to her liking. CHRISTINE’S
LEGACY is a 6yr old mare who steps up in distance
from her last outing over nine furlongs and gets a set of blinkers fitted for
the first time. If these have the desired effect, she could trouble the former.
HE'S RUN
AWAY stayed on in his
last run over ten furlongs and should be involved in the finish today. JUST AS SOON is a 3yr
old filly who has only had the two runs to date. She steps up again in distance
and may well be looking for this greater test in stamina.
Race 2.
MADDILYN
ROSE finished second a head back on debut over 1100M when friendless in the
betting market. She would have learnt from the experience and with the natural
improvement that can be expected, she could prove difficult to topple here. MOSSCON has cracked pole position and would only need to repeat
her effort three runs back when half-length behind the winner over this
distance to be a threat to the former. MEDIC makes
her debut here, but has had the benefit of five barrier trials. Any betting
support for her should be respected. OSTARA seems
to be better over this distance and from draw four, she should not be
overlooked in this line-up.
Race 3.
Two
3yr old fillies could fight out the finish to this race and complete the
exacta. JENNI BAD CAT finished fourth
on debut over 1100M, just 1.7L behind the winner. She would no doubt have come
on with the run under her belt, and jumping from gate four, she looks to be the
one that they all have to beat. FORTESSA is taken
to chase her home. She is drawn one outside the top selection and finished
second last time out over this distance. BOY FROM THE BOOL returns
from a 15 week rest and has not had a barrier trial. He has only had the two
outings to date and could show improvement after the break. GIN
AND ORANGE did not make the most impressive debuts over
five furlongs, but steps up in trip and does get a set of blinkers fitted for
today’s outing. If these help him keep his mind on the task on hand, he could
be a danger to the top three selections.
Race 4.
STRETTO showed good improvement last time out when just a
half-length behind over six furlongs. He was returning from a 17 week break and
did attract plenty of betting support that day. He steps up in trip, but should
be right up there when they hit the line. MISS TENTHOUSAND is a 3yr old filly
taking on males. She finished second on debut over six furlongs when fancied in
the betting market and should have come on from the run. She should give the
boys a good run for their money. BARTENDER BLUES has
his first run since a 18 week rest and drops back in distance after three runs
over a mile, which should be to his liking. BUREAUCRAT
also takes a decrease in trip from the nine furlongs of his latest
outing. He has his first run for his new trainer and if fully settled into his
new surroundings, he should be respected here.
Race 5.
DEE
KEEPA and KAIMU renew their rivalry
here after the latter beat the former by 1.5L last time out over this c&d.
She is just 0.5kgs worse off at today’s weights, which would not normally be
enough for that result to be reversed, but the former showed good improvement
that day and has a slightly better draw and is therefore preferred. DUCHESS
GRACE has consistent formlines to her credit and
although sixth last time out over this trip, was only 2.5L behind the victor.
Her gate two is a plus. HERE
DE FOX was slightly
disappointing last time out over the seven furlongs, but if bouncing back to
her better form, she should be considered for all bets.
Race 6.
ZOUNIQUE narrowly
missed out on his hat-trick last time out when dropping down to 1300M. From
gate seven and back over 1500M, he will be looking to get back to winning ways
today. BATTLE
MASTER has pole
position and was a 1.8L third last time out over seven furlongs. He should be
right up there in the mix taking on this field. SILVER ROAD failed
in his hat-trick outing when going over 1300M after recording two victories
over a mile prior to that. He is drawn the widest of them all, but he should be
doing his best work in the closing stages of the race. KIPKETER has finished second in his last two runs and
will be looking to go one better here.
Race 7.
Two
4yr old fillies could dominate the finish of this race and complete the exacta.
LADY SOLLY has shown consistent
form over this distance and although returning from a 11 week rest and having
had no barrier trial, she still looks the one to side with here. LICKO'PAINT has to negotiate a wide nine
draw, but she drops back in trip after three outings over a mile and gets a set
of blinkers fitted for the first time. If these help in
keeping her concentrating all the way down to the wire, she should be a big
danger to the former. A GOOD YARN comes
back from 15 week break and no barrier trial. He drops back to the five
furlongs and may do better as a result. LUCIFER’S
REWARD won going away last time out over this
distance and may be good enough to complete the double today.
Race 8.
This looks a tricky contest and some caution
is advised. The tentative first pick goes to COMTE who is seldom far off
the action and was 1.5L behind the winner in his last outing over this trip. He
will jump from a handy draw of five and should be involved in the finish. WIND FORCE was making good late progress last time out over
five furlongs and should appreciate the extra ground on offer here. CUNNAMULLA
returns from a 19 week rest and has his first run for his new conditioner.
If fully acclimatized in his new environment, he should be a factor today. IT'SAYESFROMME put in a fair effort last time out over the six
furlongs and should not be lightly dismissed.
