The coronavirus pandemic had forced the biggest league in the world to an unprecedented standstill, with a total shutdown of the beautiful game since March as the world fought against this virus.

According to British media, the Premier League could resume behind closed doors in the first week of June after the government gave the green light.

On Monday 11 May, a 60-page roadmap was unveiled by the UK government in which various protocols were outlined including the return of professional sport. (Mirror)

This means the EPL will be the second of Europe’s “Big Five’’ leagues to resume amid the COVID-19 outbreak after the English government gives the green light.

This should be a relief to most Liverpool supporters who want to see their team win the Premier League for the first time since 1990 with Jurgen Klopp's men needing just two wins to wrap things up.

The 20 teams are expected to resume training soon though nothing has been confirmed by the top flight. The league is also expected to comment on this topic and give clearer details as to what will unfold.
