Pirates in pole position to sign Hotto



Orlando Pirates are reportedly the frontrunners to sign Bidvest Wits star Deon Hotto despite also attracting interest from Mamelodi Sundowns.

Two women looking excitedly at cellphoneAccording to Sowetan, the Buccaneers have become the favourites to sign the 29-year-old winger, who still has a year left on his Clever Boys contract.

"He has been approached by both Pirates and Sundowns," Hotto's agent Machini Motloung said, as quoted by Sowetan Live.

"Remember he is still with Bidvest Wits and we need to respect that. The league is not done yet. I don't think it would be professional for him to choose preference when the league is still running.

"As it is now, nothing has been finalised; we are still in negotiation with both Pirates and Sundowns."

Hotto has been an important player for Wits so far this season. In his 21 league appearances he scored five goals and provided four assists.
