BATH

Race 5: No7 - DARTINGTON
Trainer: Marcus Tregoning - Jockey: Martin Dwyer

DARTINGTON endorsed the promise shown in three educational outings last season to open his account on handicap debut at Lingfield last month. He enjoyed the step up to a mile and should build on it now his attentions are switched to turf. Three-year-old handicap are tricky at the best of times, but he should have enough further improvement to thwart fellow recent scorer Motamayiz.

Race 6: No6 - TAWTHEEF
Trainer: Marcus Tregoning - Jockey: Dane O’Neill

Of those with public form to their names Arabian Moon sets the standard but has had many chances. He is always vulnerable to a decent newcomer and that threat should emanate from TAWTHEEF. The Muhaarar gelding has shown promise at home and judging from jockey bookings is Sheikh Hamdan’s main protagonist in the contest.

Race 8: No3 - COMPETITION (Nap)
Trainer: Mike Appleby - Jockey: Tom Marquand

COMPETITION finds himself in a slightly weaker race than when beaten by Corked at Haydock. That was a second run back for the ultra-consistent performer, and a second under the tutelage of Appleby, who is a dab hand at improving new inmates. He left the cash behind last week but can show the losses were merely lent.

CATTERICK

Race 6: No8 - AFFAIR
Trainer: Hughie Morrison - Jockey: Angus Villers

AFFAIR started the season as she means to go on with a comfortable triumph under her apprentice pilot at Chelmsford. It was her second success at the Essex course and made up for a blank campaign through 2019 in which she was largely out of sorts. Her stable is starting to fire and she can adapt to the switch to turf on this tighter track.

Race 7: No6 - SLY MINX (Nap)
Trainer: Mick Channon - Jockey: Ben Curtis

This weak race is SLY MINX’s to win and she should do that if bringing her A-game to the table. Having needed her first run following lockdown at Beverley she went down by just half a length to Lord Of The Alps at Beverley. This is a much different track but she looked happy and alert in her final spin on Tuesday and should be up to the task in hand, with Curtis a positive booking.

WOLVERHAMPTON

Race 3: No3 - FUTURE VISION
Trainer: Saeed Bin Suroor - Jockey: Pat Cosgrave

If his Coventry Stakes run is a reliable yardstick then Dark Lion is home and hosed in this, but FUTURE VISION has had a bit longer to get over his latest run when finishing out of the money on debut behind Modern News at Newmarket. The winner didn’t do much for the form when unplaced in the Chesham Stakes but Future Vision will have learned a fair amount and looks a value alternative to the odds-on favourite.

Race 7: No9 - MR KODI
Trainer: David Evans - Jockey: Brett Doyle

Doyle is riding particularly well in the evening of his career and showed that when punching out MR KODI to score at Chelmsford on a first outing in more than six months. The Kodiak gelding went up for that but remains of some interest sharing bottom weight in this weak handicap, in which he has a favorite’s chance.

Race 9: No8 - LABEEBB (Nap)
Trainer: Simon Crisford - Jockey: David Egan

This stable is really getting into gear and LABEEBB has the wherewithal to put his best foot forward to endorse the promise of his first run when third to Yuri Gagarin at Kempton. He was very easy to back that day but shaped like a horse that would take bundles out to it in terms of the experience required to bring him on.
