Race 5
A 5yr old and a 6yr mare could fight out the finish to this race and complete the exacta.  DECISIVE HEART is seldom far off the action and was staying on well when finishing third last time out over five furlongs. The form of that race has been franked and from a handy gate two, she is taken to be the value bet on today’s program. BUFFY returns from a 35-week break but did finish second in her only barrier trial to prove her well-being. She drops in trip after two runs over 1300M before the rest, but should nevertheless be right up there when they hit the line. HIDDEN EYES goes for his hat-trick today after posting two wins over five furlongs. He jumped awkwardly and took a bump in his last victory, which makes the win that much more encouraging. He jumps from draw five and should be involved in the finish here.

Race 6
Not too dissimilar to the previous race, a 4yr old filly and a 6yr old mare might be able to fill the first two position here. GINGER ROCK has cracked pole position and ran on well to win her latest start over five furlongs. Although just a neck winner that day, she did shift around in the closing stages of that race and might have been a more comfortable victor as a result. She has her peak run today and has ex-SA jockey Robbie Fradd in the irons, which is a plus. HEARTS LIFTED was below her best last time out over five furlongs when returning from a 36-week rest, but she was forced wide that day and the run should possibly be ignored. She won over this trip three outings back and if finding that sort of form here, she could emerge as the biggest danger to the top choice. SUPERBOWL SUNDAY has his second run after a 20-week break, but he showed good improvement to win his comeback start over six furlongs by half a length. If he has been able to build on that effort, he could be a factor here.

Race 7
DR WHY NOT won his maiden race last time out when stepping up to six furlongs after two solid efforts over five furlongs. He takes on extra ground again today, but he drew clear of the opposition in that last win and could well appreciate the greater test of stamina. DOLLAREURO was also a maiden winner last time out. He was returning from a 13 week rest that day and did shift about in the latter stages of the contest, but he may well be up to completing his double in this lime-up. STILL INVINCIBLE finished second in his last outing over this trip after dropping down from the seven furlongs of his previous start. He is a speedy sort who is sure to put his gate two to good use. KEEN ON GOLD has finished third in his last two runs, the latest when 2.6L behind the winner over this c&d. He was hampered in the straight that day and with better luck in running here, he should be right up there in the firing line.

Race 8
CONQUERMORE is a 5yr old mare taking on the boys. She battled all the way down to the wire when being beaten a short-head last time out over this trip. From her pole position, she is sure to give the males a good run for their money. SUILVEN has consistent formlines to his name and finished third last time out over six furlongs, just a length behind the winner. He seems certain to put in another honest performance today. MANTELLI was a short-head winner of his last outing over 1300M. He likes to race up with the leaders in his races and from draw three, he could attempt similar tactics here and prove difficult to reel in over the closing stages. CENTREFIRE is a 4yr old filly who held on well to win her last start over 1300M by just under a length. She gets to jump from gate five and should be included in all bets.

Race 4
IRISH ANGEL has consistent formlines to her credit and was only outrun late when finishing second last time out over 1300M at this track, one and a half lengths behind the winner. With the late scratchings, she comes into draw eight and looks to be the one to side with here. REDOUTE'S IMAGE won her maiden race by a head last time out over 1100M. She was staying on well that day and although taking on stronger today, she might be up to the task on hand. BOTHERED will attempt to complete her hat-trick hereafter recording two victories over five furlongs at lesser centers. She does however have her peak run today and will have 3kgs taken off her back thanks to her claiming apprentice.

Race 5
ACCELERATO is a speedy sort who has shown steady improvement in his last two outings, the latest when third over 1100M, just a half-length off the victor. He battled all the way down to the wire that day and if showing the same determination here, he could prove difficult to topple. EPIC DAN also finished third last time out, but over this c&d, one length behind the winner. He does have the widest draw of them all out at gate ten, but on the plus side he will have 3kgs removed from his allocated weight courtesy of his claiming apprentice. GHOSTLY is seldom far off the action and ended up in third place in his latest outing over six furlongs. He has a wideish draw of eight, but he should be doing his best work late.

Race 6
A 6yr old and 5yr old mare could fight out the finish to this race and secure the exacta. LUNAR TRAMP and LEXI’S CHOICE renew their rivalry today. The latter finished 0.3L behind the top choice the last time they clashed over the c&d, but as she is 2.5kgs worse off at today’s weight terms, she may have to settle for the same result. The pair are drawn in gates five and three respectively, so this should give neither a clear advantage. SUAVE finished sixth last time out over six furlongs when returning from a lengthy 33-week break away from the race track. If not in need of one more run, he could threaten the top two selections.

Race 7
This looks to be a tricky race to end the Jackpot and some caution is advised. SHOWMINDER stayed on well when second last time out over the c&d, one and a half-length behind the winner. He is drawn in gate eight, but nevertheless should be right up there in the dash down to the line. ASSAULT'N'BATHORY was only outrun in the dying stages in his last outing over 1500M and will have a 2kg claiming apprentice in the saddle. He gets to start from gate six and should be involved in the finish here. BENTLEY MAGIC has pulled pole position and followed up his penultimate run victory over seven furlongs with a seventh-place finish, just under two lengths behind the winner. He gets an even greater 3kgs taken off his back thanks to his claiming appie. BAANONE finished strongly when only beaten a short-head in his last start over 1500M. He has a wide draw of 10 to negotiate, but he should be picking off the frontrunner over the latter stages of the contest.

Race 4
EMPIRE REIGN has only had the two runs to date and showed the expected improvement when putting three lengths between himself and the balance of the field when winning second time out over this c&d. He has cracked pole position and looks cherry-ripe to complete his double here. DOUBLE SPICE followed up his penultimate outing victory with a fifth-place finish over seven furlongs, 3.1L behind the winner. He drops back to what could be a more suitable trip and could be the biggest danger to the top choice. COMFORT ME is a speedy sort who ended up in third place in his last outing over five furlongs at this venue, 3.3L back. He jumps from gate five and should be involved in the finish today.

Race 5
EXCELLENT DREAM goes for his hat-trick here after winning his last two starts over the c&d, the latest by one length, despite being bumped at the 200M mark. He finished strongly that day and from a handy draw three, he could be the one to side with here. CLASSY LASSY is a 5yr old mare taking on the boys, but she is seldom far off the action and finished a neck second in her latest outing over this c&d when returning from a 32-week break. She has a wide draw of nine to overcome, but she should use her early gate speed to move across without expending too much energy. STELLA DOOR just ran out of steam late when missing out on his hat-trick last time out over six furlongs when returning from a 12-week rest. He has the widest draw of them all to negotiate, but if not in need of one more run, he should be right up there when they hit the line.

Race 6
BURNING MAGIC is a 7yr old mare taking on males. She has made steady improvement in her last two outings and only found one too good for her last time out when finishing second over a mile, 1.3L back. She is drawn in gate two and if she has continued along that same path, she looks capable of going one better today. As such, she looks to be the value in the race. STORMY RULER and CONQUERED ZONE renew their rivalry here. The former finished 0.8L in front of the latter in their last clash over the mile and is a full 4.5kgs better off at today’s weights, thanks partially to his apprentice jockeys 2kg allowance, which should make it difficult for the table to be turned. Both suffered interference during the running of that race and the second selection is drawn wide at gate eleven as opposed to gate three of the latter, but nevertheless, with all things considered, the result of the prior race should be confirmed today.

Race 7
BRUTUS MAXIMUS has consistent formlines to his name and finished second in his last run over 1300M, two lengths back from the winner. He was returning from a lengthy 86 week break that day, but he gets gate three, as well as having 2kgs taken off his back thanks to his claiming apprentice. GREAT HEIST missed out on completing his hat-trick when fifth last time out over the c&d when having his second run after a 25-week break. He will be hoping to bounce back to winning ways today. SENTIMENTAL QUEEN is a 4yr old filly taking on boys. She has only had the two runs to date and showed marked improvement when winning over seven furlongs last time out when returning from a 48-week break. She has a wide draw of 10 to overcome, but she clearly has some ability and should be considered for all bets. STEVIE'S WONDER is drawn the widest of them all at gate fifteen and was returning from a 23-week absence when making good late progress to finish second last time out over the c&d. He is likely to be dropped out of the race early and should be closing in on the pack over the closing stages.
