Race 7: No4 - PHOENIX APPROACH (Nap)
Trainer: Tim Easterby - Jockey: David Allan

PHOENIX APPROACH came of age when bolting up over course and distance last week and has to be taken seriously under a 6lb penalty. There was plenty of cash for the selection whose three and a quarter length winning margin is an impressive stat to take into this identical race.

Race 9: No3 - KESARINA
Trainer: Sir Michael Stoute - Jockey: Ben Curtis

KESARINA looked like a filly in search of a longer trip when troubling the judge on her handicap debut at Sandown last month. The daughter of Medicean stayed on promisingly over that mile and a quarter and should relish this extra quarter-mile on an equally stiff track with its uphill finish.

Race 3: No1 - LAST SUNSET
Trainer: Saeed Bin Suroor - Jockey: Callum Shepherd

Godolphin appears to have a stranglehold on this fillies’ novice stakes with LAST SUNSET just preferred to Isle Of May. Though easy to back, the selection got the job done tidily enough on her debut here and the daughter of Teofilo might not find her penalty a barrier to following up. Isle Of May has placed on both starts and looks sure to give her rival plenty to think about.

Race 4: No10 - MOSTLY (Nap)
Trainer: John Gosden - Jockey: Rab Havlin

The nicest filly in this novice is MOSTLY, who shaped with abundant promise on her Newmarket introduction last autumn and should not lack for fitness after her long absence. The Makfi filly started a well-backed 7-4 favourite for that defeat by the useful Chamade and is the subject of encouraging reports from Newmarket while operating from a good draw.

Race 7: No6 - LIBRETTI
Trainer: William Knight - Jockey: Tom Queally

Queally has struck up a good partnership with LIBRETTI and can make it three wins from as many rides on her in this. She opened her account by a narrow margin at Lingfield, and when switched to turf landed some good bets without winning too far at Yarmouth. The daughter of Noble Mission remains on a workable mark and should have too much for City Escape, who was unlucky in running in her latest outing.

Trainer: Richard Hughes - Jockey: Jamie Spencer

Several catch the eye in this novice stakes but BRENTFORD HOPE is going to be hard to beat. A stunning winner on his Newmarket debut, the Camelot colt reappeared in a hot race at York and for m7ch of the journey travelled best. Sent off a 6-4 favourite, he weekend in the closing stages but might have been a gallop short, and is better than the run indicates.

Race 1: No3 - KING FRANKEL
Trainer: Mark Johnston - Jockey: Richard Kingscote

KING FRANKEL by name alone has a lot to live up to, but he’s the subject of glowing reports from Middleham for this mid-summer introduction. Representing top connections, he should know sufficient to put paid to the once-raced and more experienced pair of Chase That Dream and Envega.

Race 6: No9 - BARTAT
Trainer: Mick Channon - Jockey: Silvestre De Sousa

BARTAT is a filly with plenty of boot who should quickly get into pole position from her draw one off the rail. She’s a sparely made individual but enjoys her work and her racing. After going close in a similar race at Lingfield last time she’s now in a position to gain a first success since this time last year.

Race 8: No3 - HEAVEN FORFEND (Nap)
Trainer: Sir Michael Stoute - Jockey: Oisin Murphy

HEAVEN FORFEND comes with risks attached but is a beautifully bred individual that might be worth one final chance. The Frankel colt has been rolled at odds-on on both 2020 starts at Windsor and Pontefract. He’s become very expensive to follow but might not even be favourite for this weakly contested novice.
