Race 6.
WINDSTORM missed out on his hat-trick when finishing fourth last time out over 1100M. He raced wide early, but then stayed on well in the closing stages. From gate three, he will be looking to bunce back to winning ways and is taken to be the best bet on today’s card. YULONG JANUARY is seldom too far off the action and although eighth in his last outing over this distance, he was just 3.2L behind the winner. He has his peak run here and gets a handy draw five. TRAVIMYFRIEND hit the front at the 200M mark before being runout of it late to end up in second place last time out over seven furlongs, a neck adrift of the victor. He has a wide draw of thirteen to negotiate, but he should be doing his best work late.

Race 7.
FIERCE IMPACT finished strongly when only getting a clear run at the 300M mark to just being denied victory when third in a Group 1 race over seven furlongs last time out, suggesting that the step up to the mile will be just what he would enjoy. He was returning from an 18 week break that day and did win successive Group I events over this trip last season to reinforce that fact. He jumps from gate five and could be the one that they all have to beat. RUSSIAN CAMELOT was a fluent winner the SA Derby over 2500M last time out before taking an 18 week rest. He returns here without the benefit of a barrier trial and takes a big drop in distance, but he did win his penultimate start over the mile by seven lengths, so this should not be an issue. He has draw fourteen to overcome, but he will likely be dropped out of the race early and should be picking off the frontrunner over the closing stages of the race. PERFECT JEWEL is a 6yr old mare taking on the boys, but she is a Group III winner, so should not be dismissed lightly. She won her last start over seven furlongs despite jumping awkwardly and did post a win over a mile three runs back. From a handy draw two, she should keep the males honest.

Race 8.
WISDOM OF WATER missed out on his hat-trick last time out when stepping up to seven furlongs. He had won his previous two starts over six furlongs and seems to be more suited to that distance. He returns from a 14 week rest and has his first run for his new trainer. If fully settled into his new surroundings, he looks to be the value bet on today’s program, jumping from draw seven. TYDEUS has won his first two outings, the latest over this trip by three and a half lengths, that after he won over five furlongs on debut. He has drawn the widest of them all at gate eleven, but he clearly has some ability and could be the biggest danger to the top choice. PRAGUE has his first run after a 23 week break, but has had three barrier trials, winning the last two. He finished second in his last outing over seven furlongs before the rest and should be involved in the finish here.

Race 9.
The top four selections for this last race all missed out on completing their hat-tricks in their latest outings, so the form of the race is solid. PARLOPHONE messed up the start badly before finishing sixth last time out over 1100M, but had won by three lengths over five furlongs in his penultimate start. She has a wide draw of ten to beat, but she should be right up there in the dash down to the line. LETZBEGLAM returns from a 29 week absence and has not had a barrier trial so her fitness will have to be taken on trust. She had won her two previous races over this distance, before failing last time out over six furlongs and should turn in another honest performance here. SEPTEMBER RUN was returning from a 12 week rest when finishing fifth last time out over six furlongs, but her jockey did put up 0.5kgs over-weight that day. She jumps from gate two and will be looking to bounce back to winning ways here. MINHAAJ returns from a slightly shorter 25 week break and has also not had a barrier trial. She jumped awkwardly when finishing last in her latest outing over six furlongs and that effort should be totally ignored. Despite having a wide draw of thirteen, she should be respected here as she has her first run for her new trainer.

Race 4.
SISTA ELENORE finished second on debut over this c&d, a half length adrift of the winner and was then immediately rested for 22 weeks. She returns here after winning her only barrier trial and despite having to deal with draw eight, she looks to be the one to side with here. BOOM GIRL is a speedy sort who finished second in her last outing over 900M, 1.7L back from the winner, when returning from a 10 week break. She has a much kinder draw of gate three and could emerge as the biggest danger to the top choice. WEWANDA drops down in trip after ending up in fifth place last time out over six furlongs. She has the necessary gate speed to overcome the widest draw of them all and should be involved in the finish today.

Race 5.
KING KLAUS has yet to finish out of the top three in all of her six runs to date, winning half of them. The gelding missed out on completing his hat-trick when finishing second in his last start over this five furlong trip. He like to race up with the speed and from a handy draw three, he is taken to be the best bet on the card. IMA TEAMBOY followed up his penultimate run victory over this c&d with a fourth place finish over this distance next time out. He has cracked pole position and has the services of ex-SA jockey Sean Cormack. RED DOULTON is a 5yr old mare taking on the boys and although she is recorded as finishing eights last time out over seven furlongs, she was just 2.7L behind the winner. She could well appreciate going over this sprint distance.

Race 6.
MISSILE MANIA has consistent formlines to his credit and finished third over this c&d last time out. He finished strongly that day and from gate four, he should put in another honest performance today. MONDENA followed up his penultimate run win over 2020M with a second place finish over 2190m next time out, just a half length off the victor, despite shifting about in the latter stages. He will have to negotiate a wide eleven draw, but should be right up there when they hit the line. UNIQUE JOURNEY did finish 0.8L in front of the top pick in their last clash over the c&d, but is 0.5kgs worse off at today’s weights. This would not normally be enough for the tables to be turned, but the former is preferred as he was finishing the faster that day and seems more consistent. It should however be noted that the blinkers are re-fitted to the latter and if this move has the desired effect, he should be a big runner here.

Race 7.
EASY COME stayed on well when sixth last time out over this distance. He showed plenty of pace that day and did win his penultimate start over five furlongs in soft going. He jumps from gate eight and could be the right one here. ABLE MABEL is a 4yr old filly taking on males. She finished third in her latest outing over the c&d, just over one and a half lengths behind the winner. She is drawn in gate two and could threaten the top selection. SUPERARE won his penultimate start over 1300M and then something clearly went amiss in his next outing when he finished last over seven furlongs. He returns from a 14 week rest, but has won both his barrier trials to showcase his well-being and although drawn the widest of them all in gate fifteen, he should be included in all bets.

Race 3.
ANOTHER ARLI has finished second in his last two runs, the latest when less than a length behind the winner over seven furlongs. He hit the front at the 200M mark, but then was run out of it very late. He jumps from a handy gate two and looks to be hard to topple in this line-up. UNDER THE PUMP stayed on to finish second last time out over 1500M when returning from a 24 week break, despite hanging in the latter stages. He has drawn gate five and could complete the exacta here. ELLAS JOY is a 4yr old filly taking on the boys. She ended up fifth in her last outing over 1500M and will have to overcome a wide draw ten. She could however prove to be the best of the balance of the field.

Race 4.
SHAME WARNED has consistent formlines to his credit and went from jump to wire to win his last start over this c&d by half a length. He does have a wideish draw of seven, but he could be good enough to complete a quick double today. CAPITULATE is drawn one outside the top choice and has turned in two solid recent efforts, the latest when fourth over the c&d, just one length back from the winner. He looks a threat to the former. MAUI PRINCESS is a 6yr old mare taking on males, but she has finished second in her last two outings, the latest when a neck behind the victor over 1512M. From her gate five, she should give the boys a good run for their money.

Race 5.
RONAN'S ROCK showed good improvement to win his last start over a mile by over one and a half lengths. He drew clear of the opposition after striking the front at the 350M mark and never look in danger of being beaten. The gelding has drawn six and should be right up there in the firing line. SCHAPPOSE finished second in his last outing over six furlongs despite being friendless in the betting markets and has had an encouraging barrier trial since then. He is drawn wide at gate eleven, but he is likely to be dropped out of the race early and be doing his best work late. PHILADORA is a 6yr old mare taking on boys, but she jumped awkwardly before recovering well to finish strongly and win her last start over 1300M by a neck. She has a far kinder draw three and should be involved in the finish today.

Race 6.
BRAVE ENOUGH made good late progress before ending up in forth place last time out over five furlongs when returning from a 24 week rest. He is sure to appreciate the extra ground on offer here and from draw three he looks to be the one to be with today. He will also get 3kgs taken off his back thanks to his claiming apprentice to aid his cause. XIAOLI'S YING is a 4yr old filly taking on males. She stayed on well to finish fourth in her latest outing over five furlongs when returning from a 28 week break. She has the worst draw of the lot in gate sixteen, but has the early gate speed to move across without using up too much energy. EPIRUS BOW resumes from a lengthy 122 week absence from the race track, but has had the benefit of two barrier trials, finishing second in the latest. He has his first run for his new trainer and the fact that his connections have brought him back into racing after such a long break suggests that they feel that he still has something to offer them.

Race 7.
ALL FROM SCRAP made good late progress when finishing third in his last start over 1300M, 2.3L off the winner. He gets to jump from gate five and is made the value bet for the day’s meeting. LIGULATE finished strongly to win his last outing over seven furlongs at this track by a short-head. He returns from a 20 week rest, but has posted two seconds in his barrier trials to prove his fitness. He is drawn in gate seven and should be right up there in the mix. GENERAL SOHO jumped awkwardly and was then hampered shortly after the start before finishing sixth in his last outing over 1300M. He faces a wide draw ten, but with a bit of luck in running today, he should be included in all bets.
