BATH

Race 3 No4 MEDIEVAL (Each Way)
Trainer: Paul Cole - Jockey: Pat Dobbs

Three years since his previous success and with a new jockey, MEDIEVAL holds strong each way claims. He’s improved from race to race this season, and when beaten here last month was only denied in the final stride by Pitchcombe. Further to his chance is a rail draw from which he should obtain a handy early position.

Race 5 No8 CORONATION COTTAGE (Each Way)
Trainer: Malcolm Saunders - Jockey: Martin Dwyer

Saunders has a good record with his sprinters at this course. The locally-based trainer sent out CORONATION COTTAGE to score over course and distance early last month but she was out of her depth in a Class 3 back here when no match for Concierge. The mare is down to a Class 4 here, and from a good spot in the gate can bounce back.

LINGFIELD PARK

Race 2 No1 FANGORN (Nap)
Trainer: Mick Channon - Jockey: Rob Hornby

FANGORN is a keen goer and wears a hood at home, but he was given a waiting ride on debut at Ascot, finishing a never nearer sixth to Prince Of Abington, but beaten less than three lengths. He’s going to be a lot more streetwise for this weakly-contested maiden, and can open his account.

Race 7 No4 PIONEERING
Trainer: Gary Moore - Jockey: Rhys Clutterbuck

Chelmsford specialist PIONEERING has won and finished second twice at that track from five starts this season. It was in plating company that he came up short against Bayston Hill at this course. He’s in the same basement class here, and has a good chance of going one better.

THIRSK

Race 1 No4 JUST FRANK
Trainer: Les Eyre - Jockey: Lewis Edmunds

If JUST FRANK can show that he’s not rusty after a mid summer break the colt should have little difficulty in opening his account. His second to Saint Lawrence at Redcar is very solid form as the winner, third and fourth have all scored subsequently.

Race 2 No1 TWIN APPEAL (Each Way)

While getting little respite from the handicapper, TWIN APPEAL has the wherewithal to put in another big run. It’s most interesting that his last victory happened in this race with just a pound less on his back in 2019, and he looks to have been primed for a repeat.

Race 7 No3 ATALANTA BREEZE (Nap)
Trainer: Marcus Tregoning - Jockey: Ben Curtis

ATALANTA BREEZE came back from a lengthy absence to score in cosy fashion over a mile and a quarter at Bath. The Champs Eysees filly is up 6lb for that triumph, but looked good value for her win. Unless succumbing to the ‘bounce’ factor she has a fine chance to follow-up.

WOLVERHAMPTON

Race 3 No8 STATE OCCASION (Nap)
Trainer: Ralph Beckett - Jockey: Harry Bentley

STATE OCCASION attracted a bundle of interest in the market before finishing a creditable third to Nazuna at Doncaster and can now prove the real deal switching to sand for the first time. On debut she had gone down in a oriole photo to Zabeel Queen who went on to finish third in the Group 2 May Hill Stakes on the Town Moor.

Race 9 No10 PASSIONEL
Trainer: Simon Crisford - Jockey: James Doyle

PASSIONEL is closely related to a number of winners and although a beaten favourite at Bath last time could have been let in lightly by the handicapper. She fluffed her lines at the start that day, and with the visor left on she can make amends.
