Magic Tips Best Bets

Race 2: RYANAIR (1)
Jockey: Lerena D - Trainer: Turner M

RYANAIR has produced three good runs since relocating to PE. She moved up like a winner last time, but was outrun by Gimme Annie. The daughter of Rock Of Gibraltar finished second in her only attempt over this C&D, three runs ago. She is likely to race up with the pace from gate two and may be hard to peg back in the run down to the wire.

Race 3: CANA (7)
Jockey: Cheyne G - Trainer: Oosthuizen Z

CANA should have finished closer to the winner last time as she had to switch at the 200m mark. The daughter of Elusive Fort will be at home over the 1900m and it is encouraging that Greg Cheyne steps into the saddle. With a bit of luck in running, she should take a power of beating.

Race 5: AFRICA'S GOLD (4)
Jockey: Cheyne G - Trainer: Greeff A

AFRICA'S GOLD followed up his PE Gold Cup win with a decent third-place finish over this C&D. He raced from a handy position that day and stayed on well at the finish. Greg Cheyne steps back into the saddle this afternoon and the combination should find themselves in the winner's enclosure.

Race 7: LA BELLA MIA (1)
Jockey: V.Rensburg M - Trainer: Smith G

LA BELLA MIA was given a peach of a ride when winning her last start over the minimum trip on this course. The manner in which she races suggests that she will have no issues with the rise to the 1300m. Marco van Rensburg is likely to give her the same ride this afternoon and she should take a power of beating.

Race 4: RED HERRING (7)
Jockey: Ramzan Y - Trainer: Nel J

RED HERRING is the value bet on today's card. Her last start over this C&D was fair. She finished 3.25 lengths behind PUREST BLISS in her penultimate effort and is 6.5kgs better off at the weights, thanks to her claiming apprentice. That should be enough for the tables to be turned this afternoon. She is likely to race up with the pace today and may be hard to peg back in the run down to the line.
