Race 5.
TEMPEL ONE is seldom far off the action and although fifth last time out over a mile, he was just a length and a half behind the winner, after staying on well that day. He drops to a lesser center here and although drawn in gate nine, he looks to be the one to side with here. BUCKLE UP BABY is a 5yr old mare taking on the boys. She has shown steady improvement in her last three runs, culminating with a strong finishing neck victory last time out over a mile. She has a kinder draw six and will also have 3kgs taken off her back thanks to her claiming apprentice to aid her cause. PITTSBURGH has consistent formlines to his name and finished sixth in his latest outing over this distance, just under two lengths behind the winner. He came the widest into the straight that day and should turn in another honest performance today.

Race 6.
SECRETLY AWESOME returns from a 23 week break, but has put in two encouraging barrier trials to prove his fitness. He goes for his hat-trick here after winning his last start over a mile by a short-head, despite being bumped at the 70M mark. He drops in distance, but did win his penultimate outing over 1300M by nearly three lengths, so this should not be an issue. He will have to negotiate draw nine, but is nevertheless taken to be the best bet on the card. FARMER’S FRIEND did not get the clearest of passages when ending up in eighth place last time out over six furlongs, 3.6L behind the winner. From draw three, he may emerge as the biggest danger to the top choice. TEMPEL ONE made late progress when finishing fifth in his last outing over a mile, a length and a half back from the victor. He is drawn in gate eight and should be involved in the finish.

Race 7.
Two 5yr old mares could fight out the finish to this race and complete the exacta here. MORNAY showed determination when winning her last outing over five furlongs by a neck. She jumps from gate seven and if showing the same amount of courage today, she looks to be the value in the race. PEARL ROAN steps up in trip after finishing eighth in her last start over five furlongs, but was making good late progress that day and on that effort, she should appreciate the extra ground on offer today. She is drawn one inside the top choice and should be right up there when they hit the line. EQUASPECIAL returns from a 22 week break, but has had the benefit of two barrier trials. He is looking for his hat-trick after winning his last two runs over this distance, the latest by half a length. He has draw eight, but will have the services of ex-SA jockey Keagan Latham so will get all the necessary assistance from the saddle.

Race 8.
This looks to be a tricky race to end off the Jackpot and some caution is suggested. LUCKY SHADOW is a 3yr old filly taking on males. She followed up her penultimate run victory over five furlongs with a second place finish over the same trip last time out, just a short-head behind the winner. She finished strongly that day after only seeing daylight at the 200M mark. KING'S CHAMP has turned in two solid last efforts over this distance, the latest when third, just over a length back from the victor, despite being trapped very wide out in the race. He gets to jump from gate five and should give a good account of himself in this line-up. TOTO has made gradual improvement in his last two runs, winning the latest over five furlongs by half a length, despite jumping awkwardly. He has cracked pole position and should be included in all bets. LAGARDE is a 5yr old mare who stayed on well to end up in fourth place last time out over five furlongs, 1.9L behind the winner. She will have to overcome draw nine, but she should give the boys a good run for their money.

Race 4.
CORAL BAY showed good improvement when finishing third last time out over seven furlongs, just over a length behind the winner. He takes a drop in distance, but has his peak run here after a 16 week absence. From his handy draw two, he could prove to be the one that they all have to beat. DEGAS returns from a 24 week break, but did finish second in his only barrier trial. He went from jump to wire when winning by almost four lengths last time out over seven furlongs and seems likely to enjoy the drop in distance of today’s contest. His draw five will do him no harm. INDIAN DREAMER has his first run since a shorter 21 week rest and three barrier trial, the latest one being the most encouraging. He takes a big drop in distance and is drawn wide out in gate ten, but he will have ex-SA jockey Robbie Fradd in the irons so will get all the necessary assistance from the saddle.

Race 5.
A 3yr old filly and two 4yr old fillies could dominate the finish to this race and complete the trifecta, but the day’s value bet, ST JUST, is preferred of the trio. She followed up her penultimate run victory over seven furlongs with a third place finish next time out over six furlongs, 2.3L behind the winner, after jumping awkwardly. She drops down to what appears to be a more suitable distance and despite having to deal with a wide draw eleven, she should be doing her best work late. EPICURIOUS has shown steady improvement in her last two runs, finishing second in her latest outing over seven furlongs, just a neck back from the winner when returning from a 20 week rest. She jumps from gate five and looks the immediate threat to the top choice. MADAME MO renews her rivalry with the latter having finished 0.7L behind her in the race mentioned above, but as she meets her conqueror on 1.5kg better terms today, the is every chance of a form reversal. The pair are drawn alongside each other and there should be very little separating them when the reach the wire.

Race 6.
DIS DAH WUN returns from a 25 week absence, but has had the benefit of two barrier trials, winning the latest. He has only had the two runs to date, finishing third on debut over 1100M and then second last time out over the same distance, just over one length back from the victor. She is drawn the widest of them all in gate sixteen and has her first run for her new trainer, but if fully settled into her new surroundings, she could prove hard to topple in this line-up. MY GIRL SKY made a mess of the start but then recovered well to be staying on to end up in fourth place on debut over five furlongs, 2.3L behind the winner. She would have learnt from that experience and although drawn in gate eleven, with the natural improvement that can be expected, she could emerge as a threat to the top pick. LEARNING CURVE is one of the five first-timers in the race and based on her three barrier trials, she could be the best of them. She finished third in her first two trials and then won the latest. Any betting support for her should be respected.

Race 7.
Just like the previous race, with the two late scratchings in the line-up, there are five runners making their debut today. As is always the case in these types of contests, any betting support for these entrants should be taken seriously. ELGIN, however may prove to be the best of the raced runners. She takes a further drop in trip after finishing fourth last time out over six furlongs, just over three lengths behind the winner and may do better as a result. She will have to negotiate a wide draw twelve, but will have the services of ex-SA jockey Sean Cormack, so will get all the assistance from the saddle. CRAZY EYED FRED also drops in distance after ending up fourth in his last outing over six furlongs, but he did finish second over the same trip in his penultimate start, 1.3L behind the winner. He has a slightly kinder draw eight and should be right up there when they hit the line. ACCESS DENIED has his first run, but did win his one and only barrier trial. If not too green, he should be considered for all bets.
