Race 5.
FOUR EGOS has consistent formlines to his credit and has finished third in his last two runs, the latest when just under a length and a half behind the winner over 1300M. He was making good late progress that day and whilst drawn out the widest of them all in gate fourteen, he should be doing his best work late. He has his peak outing here after returning from a 14 week rest and could be the one to side with here. MEYDAN LASS is a 3yr old filly taking on the boys. She is seldom too far off the action and finished third last time out over 1100M, despite coming wide into the straight. She has a far kinder draw two and gets a set of blinkers fitted for the first time. If these have the desired effect, she could threaten the top choice. TAWFIQ LASS is another 3yr old filly. She finished third on debut over five furlongs, 2.3L off the winner after having had four barrier trials. She would have learnt from that experience and with the natural improvement that can be expected, she should be right up there when they hit the line.

Race 6.
STANDING BEAR showed marked improvement to be a neck winner of his maiden race last time out over six furlongs when returning from a 36 week absence. He overraced in the early stages, but hit the front at the 150M mark and then held on well in the latter stages. He has a handy draw three and could be good enough to complete his double here. As such, he is taken to be the best bet on the card. LOBBAN HOOD is an 8yr old mare taking on males, but she had her consistency rewarded with a short-head victory last time out over 1100M. She finished well that day to get up in the shadow of the post and could emerge as the biggest danger to the top pick. BEAR THE CROWN is a 4yr old filly who stayed on well to end up third in her last outing over six furlongs, just over a length and a half back from the victor. She is drawn one inside the latter and should be involved in the finish.

Race 7.
EDITORS battled all the way down to the wire before ending up in third place last time out over a mile, just over a half length behind the winner. He drops in trip today, but did win over this c&d three runs back, so this should not present an issue. He jumps from gate four and is made the top selection in what appears to be an open contest. CHAMISAL finished well to win his last start over a mile by just under a half length. He has drawn gate six and should keep the former honest. ASUDEM stayed on over the closing stages to finish second in his last run over six furlongs, suggesting that the extra ground on offer here will be t his liking. He will have to negotiate draw ten, but he should not be overlooked in this line-up. MISTER SMARTEE looked a possible winner at the 100M mark before being beaten into second place, just 0.4L back from the victor. On that effort, the drop in trip should suit him.

Race 8.
FAIR DINKUM followed up his penultimate run victory over six furlongs with a fourth place finish next time out over the same distance. He had to be held up between the 400M and 200M mark that day and should have finished closer to the winner as a result. He has cracked pole position and with better luck in running today, he should be right up there in the firing line. GANGIKA is a 5yr old mare taking on boys, but she has shown steady improvement in her last three outings, culminating with a win last time out over 1100M. She has her peak run here after returning from a 24 week break. She will have to overcome a wide thirteen draw, but on the plus side, she will have 1.5kgs taken off her back thanks to her claiming apprentice. STAR RAIDER showed solid improvement to finish sixth in his last start over 1100M, two lengths behind the winner. He jumps from gate three and gets blinkers fitted for the first time. He should be included in all bets.

Race 4.
Three 4yr old fillies could dominate the finish to this race and complete the trifecta. MISS GEM showed marked improvement when finishing strongly to win her last start over this c&d by a head when returning from a 20 week break. She is drawn the widest of them all in gate ten, but given her style of racing, this may not be such a big issue and she should be doing her best work late. BELLARINE was hampered at the 150M mark and then was hanging in over the closing stages before ending up in fourth place in her latest outing over 1300M. She did win over this distance three runs back, so she should have no issue with the extra ground. ICONISTA raced up with the pace before finishing up third last time out over 1300M, 2.6L behind the winner. From her handy gate four, she should be right up there when they hit the wire.

Race 5
SILESIAN had his consistency rewarded when leading from jump to wire to win his maiden race by nearly three and a half lengths last time out over this c&d. He clearly relished the step up in trip and whilst taking on stronger here, he could prove good enough to complete his double today. He jumps from a handy gate two and is taken to be the best bet on the day’s program. CABOCHON LIL is the stable companion of the top choice and could chase him home. She is a 4yr old filly taking on the boys, but the form of her last start when finishing fifth over nine furlongs has been franked and from draw four, she should keep her stable mate honest. MISSED THE ALARM is a 5yr old mare who drops in trip after finishing fifth in her last outing over eleven furlongs, one and a half length off the winner. Her saddle slipped that day, so she did well to finish as close to the winner as she did.

Race 6.
With the four late scratchings in the race, two of which were big dangers to the top pick MAGNATE, the door may have been opened for him to win his maiden contest. He finished sixth in his last outing over seven furlongs at this venue, three lengths back, but did finish just a neck behind the victor in his penultimate start when third over this six furlong journey. He will need to negotiate draw seven, but is made the one that they all have to beat. ONE MORE PINOT was only run out of it late when ending up sixth last time out over this c&d, 2.7L behind the winner. Two horses out of that race have subsequently come out and won, so he could threaten the top selection. CAIERON finished a staying on fourth on debut over five furlongs, just under two lengths behind the winner and should appreciate the extra ground on offer here. He would have learnt from that experience and with the natural improvement that can be expected, he should be involved in the finish. His pole position is a plus.

Race 7.
As with the previous race, a late scratching may come to the assistance of today’s value bet, BOUNTY HUNTER for him to notch up his fourth career victory. He is seldom far off the action and had a slipped saddle when ending up in fifth place last time out over five furlongs, just under a length behind the winner. He will have to deal with the widest draw of gate eight, but he should be respected in this line-up. IAMPAIDFOR on the other hand has cracked pole position. He has made steady recent improvement, finishing second over six furlongs at this track last time out, just a neck behind the winner. He has his first run for his new trainer and if fully settled into his new surroundings, he could pose a threat to the former. SPICERS PEAK made solid improvement when finishing third in his latest outing over 1300M when returning from a 25 week absence. He has a handy draw three and will have 2kgs taken off his allocated weight courtesy of his claiming apprentice to aid his cause. He should be included in all bets.
