Race 5

STARORIO is a 5yr old mare taking on the boys. She was rather disappointing when missing out on her hat-trick last time out when stepping up to nine furlongs, but now drops back to the mile, over which distance she won her penultimate start. The form of that race has been franked and from gate five, she looks to be the one to side with here. MYCROFT has finished second in four of his last five starts, the latest over 1100M where he ended up a half length behind the winner. He will have to negotiate a wide draw ten out of eleven, but he should be doing his best work late. QUALITY FAIR went from jump to wire to win his last outing over seven furlongs by a length. He has draw seven and could prove difficult to overhaul in the dash down to the line.

Race 6

SIGNIFICANT HERO has recorded two solid last efforts, finishing a 2.4L second last time out over six furlongs when returning from a 15 week rest. He had to be held up at the 200M mark that day and did well to finish as close to the winner as he did. He has to deal with gate seven, but he is taken to be the value bet on the day’s card. PAGANI is a 4yr old filly taking on males, but she followed up her victory over 1300M three runs back with two third place finishes in her next two starts, the latest when three and a half lengths behind the winner over six furlongs. She has a much kinder draw two and should give the top choice a good run for his money. ALL THE JULZ is also a 4yr old filly. She finished fourth last time out over six furlongs, 3.6L behind the winner when returning from a 31 week absence. She is drawn the widest of them all in gate eleven, but she should nevertheless be included in all bets.

Race 7

ANGRY ANNIE is a 5yr old mare taking on boys, but she goes for her hat-trick here after winning her last outing over this c&d by half a length. She hit the front at the 100M pole that day and then strode away from the opposition. She jumps from gate five and the trio of wins looks a distinct possibility. KENYLUCK has won two of his las three runs, the latest victory last time out over six furlongs by just under a length. He went from jump to wire that day and from draw three, he is likely to attempt similar tactics. RECHARGER disappointed last time out when eighth over seven furlongs, over seven lengths adrift of the victor and was immediately rested for 21 weeks. He returns here having won his only barrier trial to prove his fitness. From one gate outside the latter, he should make his presence felt in this line-up.

Race 8

FAMILY DISCUSSION has his hat-trick attempt today after winning his last two starts over this c&d, the latest with a well-timed win by a head. He jumps from draw six and may prove to be difficult to topple here. As such he is made the best bet on the program. DIFFERENTIATOR is a 3yr old filly taking on males. Although she is recorded as finishing seventh in her latest run over 1100M, she was only two and a half lengths back from the winner. She stayed on well that day and from draw four, she should give the boys a good run for their money. FOUR LETTER WERD is drawn one inside the latter and finished sixth last time out over six furlongs, 7.7L behind the winner when returning from a lengthy 28 week break. He has however finished second in a subsequent barrier trial and should be right up there in the mix.
