Race 6
ACCOUNTABILITY has
his hat-trick run after winning his penultimate start over nine furlongs and
then his latest over today’s distance on an objection. He was badly interfered
with at the 200M mark that day, but recovered well to only be beaten by a head.
He has cracked pole position and is taken to be the best bet on the program. GONE BYE had
his consistency rewarded with a three length victory last time out over 1900M.
He used frontrunning tactics that day and is likely to attempt the same method
here. He jumps from gate seven and will have 2kgs taken off his back thanks to
his claiming apprentice to aid his cause. VEGAS JEWEL is a
4yr old filly taking on the boys, but she has made steady improvement in her
last three outings, the latest when fourth over a mile, just over half a length
behind the winner. She finished strongly that day suggesting that the extra
ground on offer here will be to her liking.
Race 7
HULK has
improved from third to second and then to win his last outing over this five
furlong sprint by two lengths. He hit the front at the 180M mark and then drew
away from the opposition for a comfortable victory. He has a handy gate four
and looks to be the one to side with here. PANDEMIC is
seldom far off the action and ended up in fourth place in his last start over
six furlongs, just over two lengths clear of the balance of the field. He has
his peak run after returning from a 30 week break and from draw seven, he could
threaten the top choice. ELEVEN ELEVEN returns from a 29 week
break, but has had the benefit of three barrier trials, winning one of them. He
is drawn the widest of them all, but gets the services of ex-SA jockey Keagan
Latham, so will get all the necessary assistance from the saddle.
Race 8
INVINCIANO
has her
hat-trick attempt after winning her latest run over 1500M, by nearly three
lengths. She finished a close up second over this distance three runs back so
the shorter trip should not be an issue. Her draw four will do her no harm and
she is taken to be the value in the race. SAUSEDGE was hampered entering the home
straight before finishing third last time out over seven furlongs, 0.6L adrift
of the victor. She found plenty of betting support that day and from draw six,
she will be looking to make amends today. BRING THE RANSOM stayed
on well to win her last outing over six furlongs by a head. She faces a wideish
draw nine, but the form of that race has been franked and she should be
included in all bets.
Race 9
RAMMSTEIN followed up his penultimate run victory over today’s trip with a short-head second place finish over 1300M at this venue next time out. He tried to go from jump to wire that day and was only collared in the shadow of the post. Given his running style, his wide eleven draw may not be a big problem. DUNBRODY POWER also won his penultimate outing, this time over 1100M at this track and then followed that up with a fifth place finish over six furlongs next time out, beaten by just over a length and a half. He has pulled gate eight, but is likely to be dropped out of it early and then start picking off the frontrunners over the closing stages. BIG PARADE put five and a half lengths between himself and the rest of the field when winning his penultimate start over six furlongs and then ended up sixth next time out over the same trip, two and a half lengths behind the winner. He possesses good early gate speed which he should use to move over from his wide fourteen draw without expending too much energy. He will also get the blinkers removed for the first time and if this move has the desired effect, he should be involved in the finish.

Race 5
DISTILLATE is a 3yr old filly taking on the
boys, but she has only had the three runs to date and showed plenty of toe to
win her last start over 1100M by nearly five and a half lengths easing up. She
was returning from a 30 week break that day, which she clearly benefited from.
She jumps from gate five and is taken to be the best bet on the day’s card. NIKOHLI BEAGLE finished
strongly to win his maiden race last time out over five furlongs by five
lengths when returning from a 21 week break. He will have to negotiate the
widest draw of them all in gate thirteen, but is likely to be dropped out of
the race in the early stages and then start picking off the frontrunners over
the latter stages of the contest. PROUD MIA is another 3yr old filly.
She has finished second in her last three outing, all over this distance, the
latest when just under a length and a half off the winner. She has drawn gate
ten, but she should use her early gate speed to tack across without expending
too much energy.
Race 6
MISS TWILIGHT followed
up her penultimate run victory over 1300m with a sixth place finish next time
out over 1250M at a stronger center. She overraced in the middle stages that
day and that effort is best ignored. She has drawn gate two and if she is able
to recapture her best form, she could be the one that they all have to beat. GRACE BAY hit
the front at the 200M mark and then went on to hold off all challengers over
the closing stages to win his last start over 1100M by two lengths when
returning from a 27 week rest. She is drawn in gate nine, but she should be
right up there when they hit the line. KATHAIRE stayed on well to win her
latest outing over 1180M by a neck when returning from an even longer 29 week
absence. She is drawn one inside the latter and should be included in all bets.
Race 7
GREEK HERO took
an awkward stride at both the 900M and 700M marks before making good late
progress to end up in third place last time out over seven furlongs, 2.2L
behind the winner. He was returning from a 24 week rest that day and although
drawn the widest in gate nine, with a trouble-free run, he may be good enough
to chalk up his fourth career victory in this line-up. CISCO BAY overraced
in the early stages before finishing sixth in his last outing over 1500M, just
under two and a half lengths behind the winner. He has a much kinder draw two
and could emerge as the biggest danger to the top pick. LISDOONVARNA is
a 6yr old mare taking on males. She led into the home straight before being run
out of it late to finish fourth last time out over the seven furlongs, just
over a half length back from the victor. From draw four, she should give the
boys a good run for their money.
Race 8
DISTINCTIVE GLORY was hampered at the 1100M mark and
then came wide into the straight before finishing fourth last time out over 1500m,
2.3L adrift of the victor. He has drawn gate three and with better luck in
running today, he should be right up there in the firing line. FLIGHT COMMANDER showed
solid improvement when battling all the way down to the wire to win his last
start over 1300M by a short-head. He has a wideish gate seven, but if he shows
the same determination today, he could threaten the former. DESIGNER DANCE is
a 6yr old mare taking on boys. She has however cracked pole position and did
not get the clearest of passages before finishing third in her latest outing
over seven furlongs, just under a length behind the winner. She should not be
lightly dismissed.
