Neil Morrice: International Racing - Tuesday 24 November 2020

Neil Morrice Best Bets

Neil Morrice brings us all of his best bets and tips from Sedgefield, Southwell, Lingfield Park and Wolverhampton on Tuesday 24 November 2020.

Trainer: Dr Richard Newland - Jockey: Brian Hughes

The hooded C’EST LE BONHEUR made a race of it with the useful African Dance over course and distance earlier in the month with the pair finishing well clear of the remainder. The eight-year-old both jumped and travelled well, and now needs to utilise his experience of the track to see off Hurricane Mitch

Race 5 No3 EQUUS DANCER (Nap)
Trainer: Peter Bowen - Jockey: Sean Bowen

Having been mainly confined to the wilderness last season, EQUUS DANCER showed his true colours to successfully reappear over course and distance at the start of the month. His hugely impressive defeat of Outcrop was boosted when the last-named horse stylishly went one better.

Race 1 No2 FIDDLERS BOW (Each Way)
Trainer: Danny Brooke - Jockey: Danny McMenamin

This is a very open looking starting point for punters, but on debut for his trainer FIDDLERS BOW can offer up some good each way value. The veteran has shown more than once how effective he is coming off a break, while throughout last season he ran consistently well at big prices. While Ayr brings out the best in him he should operate well on this first visit to Southwell.

Race 4 No11 TREMWEDGE (Nap)
Trainer: Alan King - Jockey: Thomas Bellamy

Although up against some unexposed types such as Freezing Point and Whitlock, TREMWEDGE could know too much for them following his good effort to chase home Pink Sheets at Kempton. That was the selection’s best shot since moving from Ireland, and sets the standard for the others to aim at.

Jockeys Ride Horses

Trainer: John Gosden - Jockey: Kieren O’Neill

By Kingman out of Group 1 winner Confidential Lady, UNDER WRAPS has plenty to live up to. She’s already justified her name by surfacing in the twilight of her juvenile season, but from a good draw on this turning seven furlongs can underline the promise shown at home.

Trainer: Tony Carroll - Jockey: David Probert

Running at this course for the first time since scoring back in January, KNOCKABOUT QUEEN can show her latest underwhelming run at Southwell to be all wrong. The daughter of Sixties Icon didn’t handle the Fibresand surface on that occasion, but from a favourable draw can bounce back in this sprint handicap.

Race 3 No1 ANATIYA (Nap)
Trainer: Simon Crisford - Jockey: William Humphrey

Crisford and his son Ed are ending the year with a flourish, and look to hold the key to this nursery with ANATIYA who proved highly effective on her first visit to Dunstall Park at the start of the month. She returned from a near three month break to stylishly open her account, and though the assessor has had his say her apprentice rider takes a handy 7lb off her back. She will be hard to beat.
