KASIMIR was given a peach of a ride when winning the Matchem Stakes last time. He has won three times, finished second twice and third once from seven starts over this C&D. The son of Captain Al tries the cheek-pieces for the first time and if suited to the headgear, he should find himself in the winner's enclosure.

Jockey: Marcus A - Trainer: Crawford BRUN FOX RUN won a good race in her last start over 1100m. She has won four times from five starts over this C&D. The daughter of Foxwedge runs well this time of the year and may be hard to peg back in the run down to the line.
Race 8: HAPPY ARISTOCRAT (10)
Jockey: V.Niekerk G - Trainer: Nel W
HAPPY ARISTOCRAT produced a promising debut effort over 1200m on the straight course. He lost a length at the start, understandably raced green but stayed on well at the finish. The son of Duke Of Marmalade would have gained from the experience and should enjoy the extra furlong on offer. With the natural improvement that is expected, he should win this.

PRINCESS CALLA was ultra-impressive when winning the Fillies Championship over 1400m, seven weeks ago. She stayed on strongly at the finish in her penultimate effort over this distance in the eThekwini Stakes. The daughter of Flower Alley is loaded with ability and from her good draw of two, she should be the one to beat.
