Magic Tips Best Bets

Race 2: BATTLE FORCE (1)
Jockey: Yeni M - Trainer: Matchett P F

BATTLE FORCE is one of the better bets on today's card. He has finished second in his last two starts. He did not get off to the best of starts last time, but stayed on well at the finish. He will enjoy the drop in distance and if jumping on terms, he should be the one to beat.

Race 3: BAT OUT OF HELL (5)
Jockey: Maujean C - Trainer: Sham D

BAT OUT OF HELL ran a good race when finishing third on debut over the minimum trip on this course. She raced green, hung in the closing stages and had to switch at the 200m mark. The daughter of Querari would have come on from the run and will enjoy the extra distance on offer. With the natural improvement that is expected, she should go close.

Jockey: Hewitson L - Trainer: Tarry S

DOUBLE MARTINI is the best bet on the card. He showed very good improvement in his last start over 1400m on this course. He lost a length at the start that day, but moved up well before getting caught in the latter stages. The son of Twice Over should enjoy the extra furlong on offer and if jumping on terms, he should take a power of beating.

Jockey: Zackey C - Trainer: Peter P

BELLE OF BELIZE was a tad disappointing in her last start after producing a promising debut effort. It must be noted that the form of her last outing has been franked. The daughter of Ideal World will be at home over the mile and with a bit of luck from her wide draw, she should shed her maiden tag.

Jockey: Simons R Trainer: Habib F

YOUCANTHURRYLOVE is much better than his last start in the Grade 1 WSB Gauteng Summer Cup. He returns from a short nine-week break, which may have done him the world of good. He has won twice, finished second once and third once from six starts over this distance. He has tons of ability and if putting his best foot forward, he should notch up his fifth career victory.
