Magic Tips Best Bets

Race 1: QUE COSAS (6)
Jockey: Cheyne G - Trainer: Greeff A

QUE COSAS has produced four good efforts to date. She showed good speed over the minimum trip last time, but was outrun in the latter stages. The daughter of Coup De Grace has finished second once and third once from as many starts over this distance. Greg Cheyne takes the ride and he may be able to coax that little bit extra out of her where it matters most.

Race 2: BROADSIDE (6)
Jockey: Ndlovu X - Trainer: Greeff A

BROADSIDE got going too late when finishing second over 1000m on the turf. It must be noted that there have been multiple winners from that form line. He will enjoy the return to the polytrack and will enjoy the extra furlong on offer. He carries a handy galloping mass of 53.5kgs and from pole position, should find himself in the winner's enclosure.

Race 3: PACIFIC DUKE (2)
Jockey: Mxothwa L - Trainer: Kotzen S

PACIFIC DUKE looked a winner in his last start over 2200m, but was caught in the shadow of the post. The son of Duke Of Marmalade will enjoy the drop back to the mile today. He is likely to have is own way in front and should take a power of beating.

Race 6: AQUA DELTA (1)
Jockey: Mxothwa L - Trainer: McKenzie D

AQUA DELTA was not disgraced when finishing third in the Non-Black Type Fairview Merchants last time. He had to be steadied at the 400m mark that day and cast a shoe in running. He has won once, finished second once and third once from as many starts over this C&D. He takes a drop in class today and should take a power of beating.

Jockey: Steyn K - Trainer: Strydom J

PRECIOUS STONE had excuses in his last start over 1300m on this course. He didn't get the best of starts and also cut his tongue. It must be noted that the horse that finished third that day has come out and won since. The manner in which he finishes off his races suggests he will enjoy the rise to the mile. If jumping on terms, he can notch up his second career victory.
