Race 5.

Two 3yr old and one 4yr old filly could fight out the finish to this race and complete the trifecta, but LADY OF LUXURY is taken to lead them home. She has finished second in four of her last five outings ranging in distances from 1100M all the way through to ten furlongs, so she is clearly a versatile sort and will be looking to go one better today. She raced three wide before making good late progress to finish two and a half lengths back last time out over the ten furlongs. She will have to negotiate a wide draw twelve, but she could be the one that they all have to beat. BELLA CAVALLA on the other hand has cracked pole position. She has made steady progress in each of her three starts to date, finishing second in her latest over nine furlongs, just under a half length back from the winner and the form of that race has been franked. LOST IMPACT has only had the two starts to date, finishing second on debut over 1500M and then fifth next time out when stepping up to the mile, two and a half lengths behind the winner, despite coming three wide into the home straight. She would have come further with that run and from her handy draw four, she should be included in all bets.

Race 6.

WHAT A GIRL is a 4yr old filly taking on the boys, but she has improved in her last two outings when stepping up to staying distances, ending up in second spot in each of those events. She was one and a half lengths adrift of the victor in her latest start over 2100M, but it should be noted that she was bumped shortly after the start and was last turning into the straight before finishing strongly over the closing stages of the contest. She jumps from gate six and is made the best bet on the day’s card. SOCRATES was hampered at the 300M mark before finishing second in his last outing over a mile, just a half length back from the winner. He is drawn in gate four and has his peak run here after returning from an 18 week break. He could emerge as the biggest danger to the top choice. JUST A JEDI goes for his hat-trick after victories over a mile and the latest over 2100M by one and a half lengths. He jumped awkwardly that day and was then bumped shortly after the start and then overraced in the middle stages of the contest. He has pulled draw seven and should be involved in the finish.

Race 7.

SELEQUE is a 3yr old filly taking on males, but she followed up her penultimate run victory over six furlongs with a fifth place finish next time out over 1300M, 3.2L off the winner. She raced three wide that day, but has drawn pole position here. She gets the blinkers re-fitted and if this move has the desired effect, she could chalk up her second career victory. WRITE ON had his consistency rewarded with his maiden win last time out over six furlongs by nearly three lengths. He was returning from an 18 week rest that day, but the break appeared to be just what he needed. He likes to race handy in his races so should use his early gate speed to move across from his wideish draw nine without using up too much energy. ELEUSA is another 3yr old filly in the race and is seldom far off the action, having finished second in her last two starts, the latest over six furlongs, but her penultimate outing was over today’s journey, so the increase in trip should not be an issue. She had to be switched at the 380M mark in her latest run, so she did well to finish as close to the winner as she did. She is drawn in gate seven and should be right up there when they hit the line.

Race 8.

Today’s value bet, DALAALAAT has posted two solid last runs over six furlongs, the latest when finishing second, 1.3L behind the winner. He only saw daylight at the 300M pole that day before chasing hard over the latter stages of the race. He faces draw eight out of thirteen, but he should be doing his best work late. OLD HARBOUR has his hat-trick run after making good late progress to win a short-head last time out over seven furlongs. He has an even wider draw ten, but is likely to be dropped out of the race in the early stages before picking off the frontrunners over the latter stages of the contest. PHEMONOE is a 4yr old filly taking on boys. She made marked improvement in her last run over six furlongs to end up in second spot, just a head adrift of the winner when returning from a 17 week absence and a repeat of that effort should see her right up there in the mix. She has a set of blinkers fitted for the first time to keep her mind on the task in hand and seems sure to put her pole position to good use.
