Race 6.

THE IRISHMAN had his consistency rewarded with a short-head victory last time out over seven furlongs. He hit the front at the 175M mark that day and then went on to hold off all the late challengers in the dash down to the line. He gets a handy gate five and is taken to be the value bet on the day’s card. HUNGRY HEART is a 3yr old filly taking on the boys. She was slightly disappointing when finishing eight last time out over seven furlongs, just over five and a half lengths behind the winner, but that was in a Group 1 event and she did have a poor draw to deal with that day. She did however finish a close-up seventh in her penultimate start over six furlongs in a Group 2 event and has her peak run here after returning from an 18 week break. She will have to negotiate a wideish gate eight, but she should give a good account of herself in this line-up. POLAND on the other hand has cracked pole position and has won two of his last three runs. He put his disappointing penultimate effort in a Group 1 event over a mile firmly behind him when winning that last race, a Group 2 race over seven furlongs by a length. He should be included in all bets.

Race 7.

ALL SAINTS’ EVE is seldom far off the action and finished third in her last start over 1300M, just under a half length back from the winner when returning from a 17 week break. She was hampered shortly after the start and then had to be switched at the 220M pole that day before finishing off her race strongly and should be considered an unlucky loser. She has pulled draw seven and could be the one that they all have to beat. ICEBATH has finished third in her last two runs, the latest over seven furlongs, 2.8L adrift of the victor. She shifted out wide in the home straight that day and should have finished closer to the winner than she eventually did. She has her peak run today after returning from a 15 week rest and is drawn one inside the top choice. KRONE goes for her hat-trick after wins over 1300M and the latest when finishing best to win by almost two lengths over seven furlongs in a Group 2 event. She is sure to put her pole position to good use.

Race 8.

Today’s bets bet, CRIADERAS has finished closer to the winner in his last three outings, the latest when second in a Group 3 race over 1300M, just a head behind the winner when returning from a 11 week rest. He attracted plenty of betting support that day and did finish off his race strongly, suggesting that he should appreciate the extra ground on offer today. He has pole position to aid his cause. BUFFALO RIVER has consistent formlines to his name and tried to go from jump to wire before ending up in third place last time out over a mile, two lengths adrift of the winner. He overraced in the middle stages of that contest and if settling better today and jumping from gate five, he could emerge as the biggest danger to the top pick. ROCK is drawn one outside the latter and returns from a 16 week rest, but has had the benefit of a barrier trial, which he won to prove his well-being. He did not get the clearest of passages in the home straight last time out over a mile, finishing in twelfth spot, nearly six lengths behind the winner and that effort is best excused. On his better form, he should be involved in the finish.

Race 9.

STARSPANGLED RODEO followed up two solid efforts over six furlongs with a three length victory over seven furlongs last time out. He made every post a winning post that day and bravely held off the chasing pack over the closing stages. He faces a wideish gate eight, but a repeat of that last effort could see him notch up a quick double. ZAKAT has finished close up in his last three runs, one over seven furlongs and two over six furlongs, so the 1350M should be very much to his liking. He has his peak run here and gets cheek pieces fitted for the first time. If these have the desired effect, and despite an even wider draw eleven, he should keep the top pick honest. YAO DASH jumped awkwardly before ending up in second place last time out over seven furlongs, just under two lengths adrift of the winner. He drops slightly in trip, but did win over 1300M three runs back so this should not be an issue. He faces a wide draw sixteen out of seventeen, but he should use his early gate speed to move across without expending too much energy.

Race 6.

The top three selections in this the opening leg of the Jackpot will all have to negotiate wide draws, but they are in gates right next to each other, so none of them will get any real advantage. MISS MAYFIELD is a 4yr old filly taking on the boys, but she has her hat-trick outing here after wins over five furlongs and then the latest over six furlongs by almost a length and a half. She hit the front at the 200M mark that day and then fought off all the late challengers over the closing stages. She has her peak run here after returning from a 22 week break. SPLASHER has only had the three runs to date, but the gelding won at the second time of asking over five furlongs and then disappointed next time out over the same trip in soft going when returning from a 21 week absence, ending up nearly seven and a half lengths behind the winner, but the form of that race has been franked. He has also had a barrier trial since that outing and should be right out there when they hit the line. TOOLS DOWN is a speedy sort who went from jump to wire to win his maiden race by nearly three lengths last time out over 1100M. He takes on stronger here, but he should use his early gate speed to move across without expending too much energy.

Race 7.

Today’s value bet, DUSKY DAMSEL is a 5yr old mare taking on males, but she came the widest into the home straight before finishing off her race well to end up in fifth spot last time out over six furlongs, two and a half lengths back from the winner. She arrived on the scene far too late that day and from draw five she should just about win this contest. She is having her peak outing here after returning from a 30 week rest. SPILIA was a short-head winner of his last start over six furlongs, despite being friendless in the betting markets. He was returning from a 22 week break that day and could be good enough to chalk up a quick double. PELOSO LASS is a 6yr old mare who had her consistency rewarded with a head victory last time out over 1280M. She came three wide into the straight that day and whilst facing a wide draw eleven, she should be doing her best work late.

Race 8.

JAILBREAK jumped awkwardly before recovering well to lead the field into the straight and then stayed on well to win his last outing over 1250M by a head. He was returning from a 21 week absence that day and notwithstanding a wideish draw seven, he could prove good enough to chalk up his sixth career win. As such, he is taken to be the best bet on the day’s program. Two 4yr fillies could chase the top choice home, with the slight preference going to WILD ROCKET who has won four of her last five starts, including the latest over 1300M by a head. She did not get the clearest of passages in the home straight to earn that victory and despite facing draw nine, she looks to be the immediate danger to the top pick. EVA'S DEEL followed up her penultimate run victory over nine furlongs with a second place finish next time out when dropping to six furlongs, just over three and a half lengths back from the winner. She was returning from a 12 week absence that day and will have to overcome the widest draw of them all in gate eleven, but she is likely to be dropped out of it in the early stages and then attempt to chase down the frontrunner over the latter stages of the contest.

Race 9.

JAHBATH raced four wide into the home straight to end up in fourth place in his last outing over a mile, just over a length and a half adrift of the winner. He was making good late progress in that race and is sure to put his pole position to good use. SO GOOD TO ME is a 5yr old mare taking on boys, but she hit the front at the 200M pole and then went on courageously to score by almost a length last time out over seven furlongs. She has her peak run here after returning from a 14 week rest and from her handy gate three, she should keep the top selection honest. FEARLESS MILA is another 5yr old filly in the race. She goes for her hat-trick today after wins over seven furlongs and the latest over a mile by 1.8L. She is a known frontrunner, so her wide gate thirteen may not be too much of a hindrance and she should be included in all bets.
