Neil Morrice: International Racing - Monday 29 March 2021

Neil Morrice:

Neil Morrice brings you all of his best bets and tips for Monday's racing coming your way from Fontwell Park, Stratford, Wincanton, and Wolverhampton.

FONTWELL PARK

Race 1 No5 WIRELESS OPERATOR (Nap)
Trainer: Olly Murphy - Jockey: Adrian Heskin

With his tongue tied down, WIRELESS OPERATOR has a good chance of downing odds-on Drakes Well in what looks a strictly two-horse affair. He has more scope for progression than his rival and would have f8nished closer on his latest outing at Southwell but for stumbling at a vital stage of proceedings.

Race 6 No7 HERE’S HERBIE
Trainer: Sue Gardner - Jockey: Lucy Gardner

HERE’S HERBIE is at his best at this time of year as seen with his last win at Exeter. That was two years ago but he has subsequently endured an enforced absence and on the plus side finished 8n the frame in each of his last two outings in the West Country.

STRATFORD

Race 7 No13 DAN GUN (Nap)
Trainer: Dan Skelton - Jockey: Harry Skelton

DAN GUN has to be of serious interest on a first start for the Skeltons. His form is largely unimpressive, but this is a weak race and if benefitting from the move he is likely to play a major part.

Race 8 No2 LITIGATE (Each Way)
Trainer: Paul Webber - Jockey: Rex Dingle

LITIGATE looked a decent prospect when scoring on debut in a Fakenham bumper but has endured training issues and this is his first outing for more than a year. The gelding has been in good order at home and could get into the shake-up at rewarding odds.

WINCANTON

Race 3 No6 SIXTEEN LETTERS
Trainer: Kayley Woollacott - Jockey: Joshua Newman

The joker in the pack in this novice hurdle could be SIXTEEN LETTERS, who was a real eye catcher when chasing home Neon Moon at Leicester last time. An old fashioned chasing type, he travelled best for much of the trip that day. It was a big step up from his first run back, and further progression might well see him in front.

Race 5 No2 SASHENKA (Nap)
Trainer: Michael Scudamore - Jockey: Tom Scudamore

SASHENKA is a winner without a penalty after her dramatic exit two from home at Catterick where she crumpled on landing. She’s been a popular market order on all four starts for this trainer and there can be no excuses on this handicap debut.

Race 6 No6 CUSHUISH
Trainer: Bob Buckler - Jockey: Sean Houlihan

Yeats mare CUSHUISH receives stacks of weight from her foes and could prove a value pick if able to recapture some of her early season form. Her small stable has been in generally good form with its runners on the better ground.

WOLVERHAMPTON

Race 6 No7 SIXCOR (Each Way)
Trainer: Mick Channon - Jockey: Rose Dawes

SIXCOR started at 66-1 and 80-1 for his two outings last back end. Taking stock of the fact that he will receive a handicap mark after today, he still could creep into the money in this weakly contested maiden at similarly long odds.
