DONCASTER

Race 1 No10 WONDERFUL WORLD (Nap)
Trainer: Mick Channon - Jockey: James Doyle

The start of the Flat traditionally kicks off with the Brocklesby Stakes for unraced two-year-olds. No public form to go on, of course, but my best news concerns WONDERFUL WORLD. The Bungle Inthejungle colt is some way in front of the other colts at West Ilsley and Doyle looks a significant booking.

Race 4 UNIBET LINCOLN HERITAGE HANDICAP

No12 BRENTFORD HOPE
Trainer: Richard Hughes - Jockey: Jamie Spencer

The first leg of the Spring Double can go to BRENTFORD HOPE, who two years ago was being touted as a Derby hope. The Camelot gelding has started favourite on all but one of his five career starts and remains a horse with scope for progression. He’s been lighting up the gallops in Lambourn and in Spencer has the ideal partner for a horse that will be delivered late.

Race 5 No8 SUMMERGHAND
Trainer: David O’Meara - Jockey: David Nolan

This Listed sprint can go to SUMMERGHAND who is marginally favoured over the younger Just Frank. The selection has gone down narrowly in consecutive races at Wolverhampton, and has a cutting edge on him that some of his rivals may lack.

Race 7 No7 SELECTO (Each Way)
Trainer: Mick Channon - Jockey: George Bass

New recruit to the Channon yard SELECTO can take home a cheque on debut for that stable, even though finding himself in an ultra-competitive heat. Having knocked on the door a couple of times for his previous trainer he will get expert handling from the saddle in this apprentice handicap.

KEMPTON PARK

Race 1 No1 PILLAR OF HOPE
Trainer: Mark Johnston - Jockey: Franny Norton

A 7lb penalty for an impressive Newcastle win on seasonal reappearance shouldn’t stop PILLAR OF HOPE following-up as he steps up the distance ladder. The Awtaad colt was having only a second career start when coming home clear of Three Platoon and can show he has more to offer switched to Polytrack.

Race 6 No6 FANGORN (Nap)
Trainer: Mick Channon - Jockey: Edward Greatrex

The rangy FANGORN put in a more than satisfactory effort when narrowly beaten by George Morland here earlier in the month and should be sharper for the outing. A pure galloper, he will try to make every yard a winning one and is in the form to prove very difficult to get past.

NEWBURY

Race 3 No5 ROSE OF ARCADIA (Nap)
Trainer: Colin Tizzard - Jockey: Jonjo O’Neill Jr

Colours seen more frequently on the Irish jumps circuit can prove victorious in this Mares’ Final in the shape of ROSE OF ARCADIA. The selection has seen her Wincanton win boosted by runner-up Fable and appears to have been trained specifically with this race in mind. She’s one of the least experienced contenders, but has room for further improvement.

Race 4 No5 BOLDMERE (Each Way)
Trainer: Caroline Bailey - Jockey: Kielan Woods

Carded to go off the outsider in this field of six, BOLDMERE may be worth chancing to rediscover his good form from last season from a dropping handicap mark. The eight-year-old finished in the ruck in a handicap hurdle here on the latest of some disappointing efforts, but as that was designed to get his confidence back he could stage a revival, with a clean round of jumping of paramount importance to his claims.

Race 6 No1 RUINOUS
Trainer: William Reed - Jockey: Harry Reed

Long distance traveller RUINOUS finds himself with top weight but has deserved that status through a couple of very pleasing efforts since joining the Reed stable. With few miles on the clock he has the progression needed to make this a third triumph from his last four outings.

WOLVERHAMPTON

Race 9 No10 MIRACLE GARDEN (Nap)
Trainer: Roy Brotherton - Jockey: Hollie Doyle

MIRACLE GARDEN can prove a bet worth waiting for in the final race of the day. He has good course form, having cosily delivered in a classified last time, and can take full advantage of the 7lb received from Griggy, for whom a market check is recommended.
