Magic Tips Best Bets

Race 1: IRFAANS BOY (5)
Jockey: Habib C - Trainer: Fortune A

IRFAANS BOY has shown good improvement in each of his outings to date. He raced from just off the pace last time and found another kick in the closing stages. It must be noted that the horse that finished second that day has come out and won since. Calvin Habib retains the ride today and the combination should find themselves in the winner's enclosure.

Race 2: GIN AND TONIC (4)
Jockey: Marwing Weicho - Trainer: Marwing W

GIN AND TONIC has finished second in her last three starts. She made the trip down to KZN last time and was far from disgraced when finishing second. She has finished second once and third once from as many starts over this C&D. The daughter of Time Thief should get it right this afternoon.

Race 3: FOREVER MINE (1)
Jockey: Zackey C - Trainer: De Kock M

FOREVER MINE ran a good race in his comeback run over 1200m at the Vaal. He showed good speed that day, but found one too good in the form of Mk's Pride who has won a Grade 2 since. The son of Vercingetorix should strip a much fitter horse today and may be hard to peg back in the run down to the line.

Jockey: Hewitson L - Trainer: Tarry S

INVINCIBLE WARRIOR is lightly raced with very good form to his credit. He raced from a handy position in the Non-Black Type Egoli Mile and stayed on at the finish. He has finished second once and third once from as many starts on this course. The son of Vercingetorix will enjoy the step up in distance and may be the one to beat.

Race 8: AFRAAD (6)
Jockey: Schwarz D Trainer: Moffatt S

AFRAAD fought hard in his last start, but was caught in the shadow of the post by Pamushana's Pride who runs in Race 5 today. It will pay to follow his progress in that contest. He has won once and finished third twice from five starts over this distance. He has struck up a good partnership with Denis Schwarz and the combination should go close.
